  • The most interesting part of the statement is the last bit about us needing to hang on to those players who really care about the club. So that is Solly, Cousins, JJ, Fox and some of the kids then? Any others...

Much as I hate to type these words, Colin has a point in that Poyet's views on Riga are going to be some score settling given how he was dropped like a hot potato once Jose was brought back. As a rule, active players try not to shit on managers as you never know when you will cross swords with them again, but in this case Poyet can be fairly sure that Riga's time in English football is all but over.

Well lets see what he says. After all it was the same Riga who helped him establish himself. And Riga inherited a player who had gone backwards and wanted to come back here because he had a good relationship with Karel Fraeye!!!!

its always funny when players who have had a bad time at a club say things after they leave fact is Poyet you were awful and the decsions you made on your career were clearly the wrong ones. ...... Players who had good spells at the club like Fanni , Jorge T you don't hear from.

Mercenaries usually like to keep their mouth shut as they'll need a new payday asap.

I'd respect and like the comments more if another recent ex player said em.

Sceptical with him to be honest.

    Colin has a point.

I hope the next part is better than the first two. Getting a bit bored with this bloke now to be honest.

Diego and hid dad should really be focussing on how to learn from their mistakes rather than worrying about a club he rejected and then failed at.

WHU are now a top ten club and Poyet needs to think about having failed at two Championship clubs and how he is going to get consideration by them

The next part is bound to be 'There were players in the dressing room who just weren't interested, obviously I can't name names but the commitment wasn't there, Charlton need players who care' etc etc.

Thanks in advance for enlightening us, Diego - none of us had a clue.

Given that he appeared to be one of the players in the dressing room who wasn't interested this does come across a bit rich.

    Nothing to see here.

Poyet explains that the reason Riga failed to play him, was that he preferred to play others !

Diego never really got a run of games to prove himself this time around but did so little in the few minutes he was on the pitch that you can understand Riga choosing others ahead of him. What I found most telling was that he didn't even make the bench towards the end of the season which suggested he wasn't exactly pulling up any trees in training either.

Definitely time to move on now but dread to think where his career is going....

  • Fact of matter is, poyet hasn't just not improved but has gone totally backwards. His performance against Fulham was disgraceful and I don't imagine it was any better away at Hull and Huddlesfield. There were big debates at the time about whether moving to west ham was a wise decision and I happily say "I told you so," Nothing beats competitive first team football and the stability of being at one club not 3-4 on loan. Poyets next club will be crucial to whether he will fulfil his potential which will see him playing premier league football or become another Josh Wright playing lower league football and being by far the 2nd most famous person in the family. Poyet, you never played because you simply weren't good enough for the 3rd worst team in the championship, the exact same reason your loan was not extended at the 2nd worst club in the championship.

Why is everyone giving Poyet so much stick? He did what was right for him personally at the time and was probably aware of the nonsense going on behind the scenes.

Maybe because his performances since his return suggested he didnt give a feck?

By the end of the season, Poyet was behind Ba for a place on the bench, that's how little Riga thought about him. It's gotta hurt...

Sideways passing looked good first time round. Regressed and fond out since at Huddersfield, MK, and Charlton. Overrated.
