Hold on, I think I know the answer to this one. It was a Chief Constable wasn't it?Carter said:Who said police can't be bought
Maybe this one from Cleveland: thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/news/3731172/Chief-Constable-in-corruption-arrest.html
Or was it this one from Wales: walesonline.co.uk/news/wales-news/gwent-police-probe-complaint-corrupt-7525565
No, that's not right, how about this one from Cumbria: itv.com/news/border/update/2016-02-26/cumbria-police-chief-facing-misconduct-and-corruption-probe/
Or this one from West Yeorkshire: yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/exclusive-charges-possible-for-west-yorkshire-chief-constable-mark-gilmore-over-bribery-1-7000363
Or perhaps not quite at that level? How about the bloke who got compenstaion from his Force because he got bitten - by a flea: http://www.exposedpolice.com/pathetic-police-officer-claims-8000-compensation-for-flea-bites/
 Am I getting warm yet?

"The security staff, police and all those involved in the safety operation at the Charlton Athletic v Burnley fixture today deserve enormous credit for ensuring that the season ended at the Valley in a safe and secure manner for all those in attendance.

Is this for real?? Is it a statement from the South Yorkshire Police? I can see Meire excitedly sending this on to Duchatelet.0

To be fair, the comical handling probably defused what could have been a highly volatile situation. Come on, who didn't laugh at the marching back and forth and attempts to position those coppers in front of the covered end. Pure pantomime and we should have all entered into the spirit of things and been shouting 'they're behind you'4

I was one of the 'all', and I didn't feel particularly safe or secure.Atletico Addick said:"The security staff, police and all those involved in the safety operation at the Charlton Athletic v Burnley fixture today deserve enormous credit for ensuring that the season ended at the Valley in a safe and secure manner for all those in attendance.

At least the Chinese had shields.
The old bill looked pretty well equipped but the stewards were mostly ill equipped to move my gran on out of blockbusters (had to time shift a bit there as granny isn't with us any more)0

Baton wielding snatch squad, bit OTT for a friendly crowd mingling on a bit of grass.1

Is it actually legal to have a net like that in front of the stand? It heaven forbid there had been a fire and the only way out was the pitch, the effect of that net would not have been dissimilar to a fence like in the old days.0

Think we need to downplay this a little, the net was a good 7ft I'd guess back from the front of the stand / gates.
Like it or not, it worked.
Not for the reason it was erected for, as unbeknown to them, CARD had completely curve-balled them on the distribution / throwing front, but it did stop people from the North Lower getting on the pitch2

As they marched towards the JS Stand, I felt that they were just getting in some practice for The Trooping of The Colour.2

So next year, nets in front of East, North and West? Strip searches for those who bother to turn up (including the press as a punishment for aiding with the Liar banner). Another network manager. Looking forward to August already.AFKABartram said:Think we need to downplay this a little, the net was a good 7ft I'd guess back from the front of the stand / gates.
