Things we learnt this week

1. Protests can be fun, non-violent and not illegal and still work. Beach balls made the point and stopped the game better than a pitch invasion that is "leaked" in advance"

We have lots of younger fans who care.

Having marched the banner around behind the coffin some teenage fans unknown to me asked if it was being taken in the ground.
    "where do you sit?"
    "North Upper"
"OK, you can take it in"
    "OK"

Just did it, great work whoever you are.

And lots of younger fans at the 74 mins demo and on the march.

    3. The 7 summer signings arent making an impact.

None started yesterday and only Bergdich got on. All the others injured (Bauer, Kashi) or just dropped (Mak, Cebbalos, Ba, someone else I can't even remember now).

    4. Callum Harriot puts a shift in.

Good enough, consistent enough OK that can be debated. His effort and commitment can't.

    7. When we play well we can live with teams like Boro who try to attack, shame we can't break down teams who come to defend ala MK Dons

    9. Charlton fans are very generous. Before and after the funeral I reminded people that all this stuff costs and had people giving me £5, £10 and £20 notes galore. @Davo55 knows how much.

One chap walked up and said "here you go" and gave me an empty plastic bag to put them all in. Useful but not quite what I meant : - )

Isn't throwing items on the pitch still illegal under the Football (Offences) Act?

    10. Some fans talk big on the internet about "we need to rip the place up and get on the pitch" but don't back that up with actions.

Well done @boggzy but I believe a lot of the 200 were glad the time was "leaked" so they had an excuse not to even try to get on the pitch because they never would have done it.

    Next time keep it secret.

    11. Some Charlton staff are reasonable

@boggzy runs on pitch, doesn't act up and is back in time for the 74 min protest

    12. Some Charlton staff (yes, you Tony Cahones, I'm talking about you) are idiots

Did you think putting the police announcement up would stop the walk out? How dim are you?

But now you've done it you've shown that team line ups can be shown during the game, something you've blocked for now good reason other than your ego and wish to take over as CEO when Katrien leaves.

    13. Some people at Charlton don't like our history.

When you have the grandson and great grandsons of your greatest manager at the ground don't introduce them at 3.00 to an empty stadium. Do it at half time like your originally planned until you realised it might embarrass you to be reminded of past success

Karel Fraeye doesn't look old enough to have a grandson.

One or two of the Groundstaff have got a better technique when striking a (beach) ball than one or two of our Centre Forwards at the football club.

Whilst the protest movement is large, there are still many many more who don't seem to 'get it' - a lot more than I initially realised.

Cajones after Katriens job? ha ha.
Yesterday someone wrote about Katriens inner sanctum turning against her and her getting paranoid.
I had been thinking that Katriens inner sanctum was related to what Jo Tongue tweeted about.
    Grotesque.

That we haven't got any Belgian players any more.

I hadn't realised until having a chat with an Anderlecht fan this evening, sympathetic to our plight by the way as he dislikes RD. I couldn't think of any and upon looking up the current squad found out why.

Agree with this Tom, even some of our more vociferous contributors on here are unable to see beyond a win.
