Chris Solly

Saw he played his 200th game for the club today. Thought this was probably deserving of its own thread and couldn't see one elsewhere.

If we had XI of him on the field we certainly wouldn't be in this mess. One of the few continued positives in a total shambles of a season.

We will be bloody fortunate to keep hold of him when we get relegated. I would not blame him if he packed his bags and left for pastures new which would be a positive for RD and his cronies.

Solly is great, 11 Sollys would give us a better goal difference that today but unfortunately 0 in the goals scored column.

A team of Sollys relies on 0-0 draws for points.

That said, better than a lot of the tripe we've been served up this season.
  • If he didnt have a dodgy knee I think he would have been sold a while ago
  • Remember Nego is better then him...in RDs eyes

The best RB to ever play outside the Prem.

    Edit: English of course

    Congratulations Chris.

Your ability and hard work in those 200 games is something to be proud of. You are fast becoming a Charlton legend.

46 0-0 draws is 46 points. Will we reach that this season. ???

Way to late, has been a Charlton legend for a good 125 games in my mind

    Congratulations to Chris
I do hope that he finds a better place to ply his trade than with us soon.

Quite sad to be watching a clip and thinking nostalgically 'we used to be quite good' when the clip is not much more than a couple of years old

Congratulation to Chris Solly - a real fighter and a player we can be proud of. You can see how much he and Jordan Cousins put in week after week, regardless of how trying the circumstances are. The fact that Chris manages to play so many games with his knee problem tells you all you need to know about his commitment.

If Roland sticks around, we are most unlikely to ever have a good, young home-grown player reaching 200 appearances. In his world, 20 games is the new norm and all Katrien cares about is reaching her KPI target for player sales - good luck with that in League 1.
  • Well done Chris.
  • Chris Solly, proper Charlton, we can't have that, he'll probably be shipped out to Gillingham next season when we trade places without them, nothing would surprise me any more with this lot.

Along with Jackson, Henderson and Cousins, the only player that I feel is real Charlton right now.

Henderson seems like a good bloke and shows he understands how the fans feel with his pre / post match behaviour but his form hasn't been great of late. If Pope had put in his performances over the last 5-6 weeks, he would off taken stick on Fox's level.

Got nothing to do with Roland being in charge .... That's modern day football
"Nothing to do with" - it's his feckin business model.
  • When Chris is on song he is a great little footballer. Prem quality.
  • Whenever he does 'his thing' of making an opponent look like they've just been mugged in the High Street, it actually fills me up. It makes me forget about the poor performances of our forwards, midfield or keeper and just remember that at least in one position we have a player that is absolute top class in his ability and attitude. One of the most underrated players outside of the Premiership for many years now.

No doubt he will achieve legend status with us. A true servant to a club in decline. Would be gutted to see him go, but feel he would be justified in turning his back on the slime in charge.

Well done on making it 200 games.

He'll be with us for a while.

I imagine the problems he has had with his knee would ensure failing a medical.

Fantastic, whole hearted player. Will always remember the Blackpool away goal.

    Fantasy world man.
  • Wonder what his chances are of catching Keith Peacock and the top 10 if he sticks around... In a sense his Medical history could truly be a blessing for us
  • Well done Chris. It's a shame Roland's miss fits, show none of your tenacity and commitment. They should hang their heads in shame...
