His granddaughter Anne probably has a t-shirt range
  • JS worked with my father in the summers/off season (no pun intended) and he was remembered as a really decent down to earth chap ...such a tragedy that he left us so young ...although i cannot corroborate this my Dad (since died) was at the match but was so peed off he left at half time
  • I was there. The most exciting game of football I have ever seen; although the play-off final against Sunderland came very close.
  • I saw every game that season, except one, you are allowed to guess! I'd been off School all week and my dear old Mum felt I should not risk any sort of relapse. You can imagine the sort of relapse I suffered when the score came up on "Sports Report" and the match report that followed.

Sorry, I do not understand this comment, unless you are referring to the serious illness he died of later, if so, seems a strange way to comment on it
well he is called Loony Bin ! seems a bit insensitive on his part

The thing that I always see when I look at this programme (as I've still got my Dad's copy, who *really was* there for the full 90) is that the next home league game was an interesting 11:15 k.o. against Donny on Christmas day - from another thread, I think this was the last time we played on Christmas day (and I pretty sure being told that there was a skeleton train service ;-) any of those around care to comment?)

  • Only lived up the road, so no travelling for me
  • Some very witty comments on this stream, sorry I can't match them. The game is always going to generate some interest. I was at the game with some mates who were not Charlton fans themselves. Amazingly, I let them talk me into leaving with the score at 6-5 in order to catch the last two races at the greyhound track in Woolwich Road. I heard the cheers go up as we were leaving the ground at Valley Grove and then another louder one as we reached the top of Floyd Road.

    Too soon?.........

  • At the POF, with the pens standing at 7-6, my mate turned to me and said "I like the sound of that ...."
  • I was 3 and still annoyed that my Dad didn't take me that day

I said the same to my dad. He was at both games.
  • Why hasn't @plentyofshots posted up the vines of the goals yet? Come on get a grip!!!
  • Stayed till the end Buck Ryan with a diving header, only game
to match this was Sunderland 4. 4
  • At the time Hudds were the only team ever to score six in a league game and lose. Does this still stand ?
