Anyone praising Button's performances for us, can you talk me through his "performance" against Millwall at the Valley?

Thanks for bringing back the memory of that 40 yard free kick down the Jimmy seed end that went in the top corner, clem-snide. My counsellor said it was best not to think about nasty things that happen in life, but once i pointed out it was against Millwall he started to cry as well ! Button and the two Bens(not a kids tv show) are all decent championship goalkeepers and we will learn over the next few weeks if Pope and Henderson are of that standard.

So he waits 3 years for his chance, gets it and then gets injured! Told you he wasn't fit enough

Peterborough goalkeeper Ben Alnwick has been put on the transfer list at his own request for personal reasons.

The 29-year-old former Sunderland and Tottenham player has been a regular for the League One team, but was left out of Saturday's victory at MK Dons.

He has made 97 appearances for Posh, and only signed a new three-year contract in June.

"I wouldn't want to keep someone here who is unhappy and not focused," boss Grant McCann told the club website.

"We are all disappointed...but the reasons behind it I can understand."
I imagine it relates to his family issues

2 days before he window shuts - strange timing - poor bloke seems to have issues settling.

Maybe he's the familiar face returning
  • Probably, wife needing support from family I guess.
Hope all is well with the little boy?....

As a north east boy I think it is more likely he is moving north again. Would be great cover for Rudd though.

    Played for Slade at Orient.

Yes, IIRC Ben's son was seriously ill or some such very unfortunate issue. I hope it's not too bad for him.

Awkward timing though. As Peterborough haven't released him, unless he has something lined up already, he has 2 days to find a club nearer home, and Posh 2 days to find another keeper

Similar happened with us when RD took over in January 2014 (IIRC).

Hope Ben gets to where he wants to go.
  • Really does seem to be one of the saddest cases in Football.

Even now he has so much potential
