So what celebrations, street festival, fireworks or flags are being planned for the return of this messiah? When's the game by the way ?

If that is the first game he wins, that will be one club below us

it would be even better (position wise) if its also the first game we lose...

I don’t think anyone does hate Powell do they ? Facts are he did an excellent job for a season, then an good to OK job for a season and then a frankly arse job for 5 months and got sacked. He didn’t respond well to the new ownership, tried to fight it and so had to leave. It happens everywhere.

No Charlton supporter would have wanted him to fail, everyone would have wanted him to succeed but surely this hope for success was for the Club, not the manager. He left us bottom of the league and many people were questioning his decision making - this probably came down to a combination of stubbornness and lack of experience.

There is no hate but I personally wonder why people couldn’t / can’t get over it, get so emotional and refused to back the new regime and the Club at large.

He’s got a new job, well done to him. I couldn’t really care how he does but I want him to do worse that Charlton do. Some still seem to want him to prove a point and beat us – weird.

Sorry about the lack of iambic pentameter.

Powelly has no scores to settle with Charlton. When he comes down with Huddersfield he will only want to win so it benifits Huddersfield.

Chris Powell was a great player for us, is a very nice guy, and as yet is unproven as a manager. Shall we move on.
  • That's what that poem was fundamentally about, moving on, just another name on a list now part of clubs history, get behind bob peeters and stop the bickering about Powell as he's no longer relevant.

I personally think the easiest way to move on would be to talk about our own players and staff.

But you talk about people hating him - they don't, they just find the constant reference to him a tad freekin dull. I appreciate I have just added to this.
