Bromley 1-1 FT0

Good result that. Friendly or not. 2-1 away at Pompey, not to be sniffed at. We sounded like we were pretty strong first half0
-
Nice one chaps.
A wins a win, and both strikers scoring.
Net positive day0 -
My tenner on Vetoleke being our top goalscorer looking better by the week0
-
The main thing that I took from today's game was conceding sloppily so quickly after we went in front and then the penalty miss by Jacko. We can't afford to let gilt edged chances like that slip away. Without those 2 things it would have been a 3-0 game and would have looked a lot different. But, that's football innit.0

An away win with both first choice strikers scoring & then hold onto the lead until the end.......can't ask for much more than that. !!
Looking forward to seeing more of Igor & George up-front together..........the new Sharpe & Lineker2 - Sponsored links:

On the train back. Second half was a non-event. The shot against the bar aside we were never in any serious trouble.
We visibly took our foot off the gas in the second period.
As I've already said we looked excellent going forward in the first half. Igor is a real threat and George is very good on the ball.
Bouyans was very busy and I really like the look of him. Cousins much better when moved into the centre.
Slightly disappointed with Gudmondsson, but he still looks very comfortable on the ball.
Only real concern was Henderson. Looks very flat footed and does not like moving from his line.
Interesting to see how annoyed BP seemed to get if we gave the ball away cheaply.
Anyone making anything out of the penalty "incident" wasn't at the game. Bikey was laughing and trying to put the ball on the spot. He immediately gave the ball to Ben Haim when he stepped forward and as soon as BP pointed at Jackson TBH gave him the ball without any hint of dissention. We should be focusing on the driving run from halfway by Igor which won it.

Thanks for the summary Clem. How long have we been crying out for a player who really runs at defences and drives the ball up the pitch? Even if he doesn't score a hatful he'll create a lot of chances that way. I have a good feeling about George but I'm a bit disappointed to see Cousins shifted wide again. It doesn't play to his strengths and he won't be happy if he's put out there all season1

Thanks fellas, sounded like a decent run out. On the real deal next week eh.

Harriot was at Bromley. Seemed in a good mood and was happy to chat with fans as he walked around the terraces to the bench.
Said he picked on the wrong guy at P'boro and has a bruised hip after getting a knee from behind.
Said he's been playing up front in training and is being called Jermain Defoe by the other players.
Hopes to be involved v Brentford and will be fit.
Pompey result pleasing, sounds like Igor was on form. Still it's only a PSF.
If we are looking for omens from PSFs have a look at how Brentford did today. That won't be an easy game but most of us already knew that.0 -
Brentford seem to have conceded quite a lot this preseason. Hopefully we can exploit any defensive frailties they might have0

Good that Peeters is experimenting with Harriott up front. He's certainly got the pace and finishing ability.... might just work.Henry Irving said:Harriot was at Bromley. Seemed in a good mood and was happy to chat with fans as he walked around the terraces to the bench.

Well Brentford warmed up against South London's C team today. The A team turns up next week!0
-
thanks Henry, good that Harriott does seem to be on his way up north to BHA1
-
A few getting aggro about JC being played out of position in a friendly - thought those were the times for trying things out!
Nay worry, it'll be Bish Bash Bosh Brentford next week…0 -
I think Igor will be worth every penny of that reported 2.4m2
-
I can see Harriott being used as a striker and we will sign a left winger before start of season.2
-
Cousins only played on the left because Harriott and Moussa were injured, Cousins will be third choice behind JJ and YB, but they'll rotate a lot0
