Looking forward to the final pairing today - the two biggest hitters, but both with great short games, a lot will depend on both DJ and Rory's putting which can be suspect. Unless they get bad weather I can't see anyone getting within 2 for the last day0

It's a shame it already looks to be over, it's been a boring year for majors so far. It makes me less annoyed about not going though. I've been to St Andrews and Birkdale so I may save up for Troon in 2 years.0

Should've supaclive our phones have to stay off course so it's hard to catch up with whose up there until the evening,
I set up some stuff on the seniors yesterday nice enough course but nothing compared to open, the workmanship gone in on both courses is top top quality though,
Rory is going to have to really crack to get caught , he just had it about him the other day bouncing around as relaxed as I have seen him, in close quarters should've weighed in on him, why I thought Henrik looked so assured I can't understand,
On the practice greens and range you would've thought Westwood,tiger and henrik would've smashed this just from how pure their swing was , Rory was just lining up and hitting balls without a care in the world
Won't ever make that mistake again an opportunity to print money lost1 -

Might also have something to do with the fact that despite being Northern Irish and part off the UK he has chosen to represent Ireland in the next Olympics which is fair enough if that is who he represented as a junior / amature. Also there was a big support for Garcia as one of the Ryder Cup stalwarts and non major winner. Finally it was a UK golf crowd not a bunch of USA 'In the hole' morons or a football crowd :-0Sillybilly said:

However, I think the reason I pulled you up on it originally is that you described it as 'shoving' him and described the kid as 'plucky'. It just seems to me that you were deliberately spinning the situation - trying to paint him in a bad light by using those classic tabloid journalist tactics of simultaneously overplaying both the 'villain' and 'victim' cards. In a parallel universe, someone could easily describe the two parties as 'shocked' (McIlroy) and 'unruly' (Fan) if they wanted to spin it the other way.
I'm not a McIlroy fan, but I will defend him on this because it annoys me how people (but particularly the media) demonise those in the public eye for the tiniest failure to demonstrate perfection. It doesn't matter how nice someone is or how considerate they are of their fans - at that precise moment, nobody would have expected a fan to approach them at that point and would probably have acted in a similar way. McIlroy's mind was probably all over the place and, to be honest, I doubt if that kid even registered on his memory.
I just don't think there's anything wrong with that.

I think the course is too easy. Both times the Open’s been there in modern times it’s been torn apart and scores have been lower than many tour events. The greens are far smoother and easier to hit into than many other Open greens. They are less undulated and the pros, once they get on them usually never three putt, which happens A LOT in other Open Championships ... The Par 5s generally play down wind also, so there are a lot of birdies and occasional eagles available for them
