Right that's number 7 ticked off (target man). What do we need now? A goalie? Creative midfielder?

Are we done after that?

    I'd like another striker too if possible. I'm not sure Church or Piggott are up to it so that leaves four, one more would be nice.

    Another target man if possible.

    That's no reflection on Georgie boy but I would like to have two options, if he gets injured its little and little up front for the rest of the season. Always good to have a lump up front even if it's just as a plan b

    Definitely a goal keeper.
    Definitely a midfielder...maybe Yoni will be the creative one, because he does not (on first impression) strike me as the box to box one.

    A Goalkeeper is a must.

    If Bob plans for Moussa to be a central attacking midfielder then we need to look for another winger, If Moussa is to compete with Harriott on the left and Johan/Wilson/Vetokele on the right then we need a more a attacking midfielder.

    We're more than sorted in defence and, as far as I am concerned, up front. The loan market is there if we need another target man mid season.

    We need one more creator and/or goalscorer among our group of midfielders. Whether that's an extra winger or a number 10, I'll trust Bob's judgement.

    In goal, I'd like to see Pope get a chance while Phillips goes out on loan. An experienced back up with an eye on coaching in the near future would be ideal.

    Conversely, if Bob doesn't believe Pope is ready, I'd like to see Nick go out on loan to League One, with Dillon Phillips learning from a strong #1.

    We'll see how it pans out.

    I would just like British player who has championship/Premiership experiance and has nothing to do with "The Network". A goalkeeper preferably.

    Surely Moussa is the creative midfielder?

    A goalkeeper (either first choice or experienced back up) and another striker is priority, anything else would be a bonus.

    Taking back what I said about the strikers. Another, as an improvement on Church (providing we can ship the guy out), would be useful but not a priority.

    Still don't rate our strikers, would love us to get someone proven at Championship level in as to me our strikeforce looks as poor as last season.

    Defence looks okay. Need a new keeper. Also like another CM as we only have Cousins, Buyens and JJ

    So in an ideal world I'd get an experienced back up goalkeeper a right mid/winger and send church out on loan and bring in another striker but I don't think we're to far off .

    Well Bob Peeters said in the Welling comments that after bringing this Striker in, the transfer activity would stop for a bit whilst he looks over the players he's got

    Also mentioned that he feels the Defensive side is sorted now and that he wants to concentrate on the attack so that says to me that Nick Pope is No.1 this season

    No problem with Pope being in contention as first choice but we need back up / decent experienced competition for the jersey based on what I saw at Welling.

    Keeper, Right sided attacking midfielder, another big/bulky striker.

    I would then ship out Church and send Piggot on loan. Leaving us with Vetokele, Reza, Tucudean, New Striker, Ansah.

    A second choice keeper on loan would be nice, a winger would be a luxury. Besides that I'm quite happy with the set up of the squad.

    I understood that to mean he was going to tailor the training sessions from the defensive side to the attacking side, opposed to squad recruiting.

    It's evident that we need another keeper, whether Pope get's his big chance or not.

    And I agree with others who ask for another target man/aerial threat to keep Tucudean on his toes.

    But other than that, I reckon that we're done for now.

    Big squad numbers may well look impressive on paper, but can cause discontent for those left out of the matchday squad. A smaller tight knit squad tends to breed the greater team spirit.

    Lawrie not good enough now, interesting. Not good enough for what, and based on what?

    Personally I think Wilson will be great on the right. He was wasted at right back really. If Gudmundsson plays wide left, it's unusual to play such an attacking option on the right also. Playing Wilson wide right would work for me

    A year ago Burnley sold their star striker and gave chances to little known players and then managed the season with a small squad without any outstanding names and look where they are now, ok their team was more UK origins than ours but a small well managed squad can thrive.

    By the sounds of things I think we'd be lining up like this:

    Pope

    Solly - Morrison - Bikey/Gomez - Wiggins

    Gudmunsson - Jackson - Cousins - Moussa

    Tucudean - Vetokele

    OR

    Pope

    Solly - Morrison - Bikey/Gomez - Wiggins

    Buyens - Jackson - Cousins

    Gudmunsson - Vetokele - Moussa

    With the rest of the squad as:

    Phillips/Wilson/Ben Haim/Lennon/Fox/Wilson/Nego/Buyens/Harriott/Reza/Church/Piggott

    In my mind one other striker would be ideal, as Piggy and Spongey need a League 1 loan to get themselves set for the Championship, and another GK is a must. If you think that Wilson, Reza, Harriott and to a lesser extent Nego can play RW or LW we may be alright, but an extra body that can play right across the midfield (Collison anyone?) would push this squad into the top half - if not into contention for the last playoff place.

    Blind optimism? Maybe, but I for one am finally excited by a Charlton team for the first time in a while.
