if he does come i think it would be good to see Harriot and Cousins play in th same team.

    how old was
    Jonjo
    Konchesky
    Rooney
    Owen
    Walcott
    Oxley Chamberlin
    defoe

if your good enough your old enough vi dont buy this too young stuff throw them in and see what comes out theres a young kid at Liverpool was taken to the Uefa squad he didnt play but that is so many levels above us i would have him as well

[cite]Posted By: Plaaayer[/cite]Huddersfield have got another Arsenal striker on loan this season who is only 18 Benik Afobe, they seem quite impressed with him. There is no way Wenger would send him out on loan if he didn't think he was ready for it.

I've heard he is the real deal - going to be special apparently

Jack Wiltshere was 18 when he went on loan to Bolton. As I say Wenger wouldnt send him out on loan if he wasn't ready.

There is a difference though. Rooney/Owen etc were truely class acts, going into good teams that were either playing well, or it was the start of the season. Even rooney didnt play every match in his first season, moyes did an excellent job of introducing him to the game. We are currently in a very bad run, and playing 16/17 year olds is not the answer, its only likely to dent their confidence and that could hinder them in the long term. By all means bring them in when games dont count.
  • It's for next season though not this
  • NLA totally agree - if you're good enough you're in, whether you are 16 or 40

But Rooney and Owen were playing for Premiership clubs and were the best strikers of their generation, so comparing them with Ansah coming on loan to struggling Charlton isn't really a valid comparison.

I'd prefer to liken it to the Defoe -> Bournemouth loan at the start of his career, where he scored 10 goals in 10 consecutive games, and 18 in 29 overall, despite probably being the smallest and weakest player on the pitch.

There is another Arsenal youth team member from the Charlton area. Stephen Smith.

I think he'd be a great addition. We'll still need a bully targetman but if we release Anyinsah we'll only be left with Benson and BWP. He'll fill a gap and he's only young so his wage packet will be pretty small which is good for the budget. McEachran made his Chelsea debut at 17 at central midfield so I don't think his age has any bearing. Remember, McCormack's got ten years on Ansah and he only seems to be getting worse with age. And every passing day

All I am saying is Birmingham are getting Jordan Ibe on loan and we are signing Ansah, I know which one I would rather see next season
and Blackpool who finished below us have signed Earnshaw, Foley,Grandin and Vellios

Who says they are going to all do better for us than Zak. He's a young kid, who has impressed at most levels at Arsenal, young, pacey and free. Not sure why you would be underwhelmed with that. Yes we need more experienced players in granted, but this isn't a 'Simon Church' signing.
