I didn't want the departure of Paul Ellis to go unnoticed when we have the news of the new kit and Paddy leaving on the same day.

A dyed in the wool Addick who was involved in the old CASC for many years, used to sell programmes in the old shop and latterly has been working in the post room I believe at the Valley.

I know some of his family post on here so I hope they will pass on my, and anyone else's, best wishes.

Good Luck Paul and thanks.

When history looks back on Charlton fans, Paul should be up there with the best. He was always at away games during the eighties, when it was tough to get to the midweek ones, and ran the train service for the supporter's club for a short while. Latterly he has been the main man when it comes to programmes at The Valley. I know he suffered from some ill health a year or two back, but I would like to wish him all the best for the future and many more years of supporting the Addicks!

    Remember the Blackburn 12!

    Good luck Paul, proper Charlton.

Since the relegation from the Premiership, one way or another the absolute guts has been ripped out of this club in the years that have followed.

I don't want to move away from the thread AFKA but agree completely.

    Good Luck Paul.

Part of the furniture at Charlton, spent most of my pocket money buying random away programmes off him as a youngster. Best of luck Paul, sad day.

Paul has helped me so much over the years with my programme collection. Thanks to Paul, I was one of the lucky few to get one of the 55 copies of the postponed Cardiff match. Wonderful guy, he will be much missed. Take care fella, all the very best.

Good luck, Paul - also fondly remembered for his contributions to 'Charlton Chat' radio show with Suthers on RTM!

Just a reminder he has not gone yet, do not know how this got out but he does not wish to leave, his roles including programmes appear to have been taken from him. He has been invited to apply for alternative posts, which appears to be just camouflage for their true intentions.

Good luck Paul, you sound like you would be better off out of it.

Anyone know who is making these decisions, is it Miranda, or whatever her name is, or someone else?

  • Good luck for the future Paul and thank you enormously for your many, many years of service to our club.

Will the last long-term Charlton fan working at the club please turn out the lights on departure, or risk Roland sending you a bill.

Ben, I know this was put with the very best of intentions and Paul appreciates the sentiments it is a lovely gesture, however as @ellisaddick‌ said above, Paul is still at the club at the moment and although it looks almost certain that he will be leaving it is not that cut and dry, he has been given options all of which are for him to think on and discussions are still taking place. He would like to know your source though so if you can't say it on here can you please inbox me, it would also be beneficial to all concerned if the title was changed to something a little less like he has left already,

    Thanks in advance.
  • Posted on Paddy Powell put out to pasture thread? by @Airman Brown‌ Paul Ellis has been made redundant. Bradshaw going on July 31st, apparently.

Bearing in mind that Paul's future is still undecided, I just hope the eventual outcome is what he wishes for.

    Fingers crossed, Paul.
