The article also, in a roundabout way, could be turned upside down to explain why we are so awful this season.

Thoroughly deserved promotion. By far the best side in the division and have done it playing good, attacking football with a solid defence. Have a lot of time for Nigel Pearson & they're lucky they stuck with him a little while back.

Leicester City lost 34 million in 2012-13. The figures are not out for this season but it would seem likely that the club has been run at a greater loss than Charlton.

A number of factors have seen Leicester promoted but without the cash it almost certainly would not have happened. Not running up comparatively huge losses is a big factor in why Charlton are where they are. Trying to remain vaguely competitive with clubs such as Leicester has seen us run up debts.

Well done to Nigel Pearson for doing a good job with the resources available, well done the team for being consistently good and well done the fans for sticking by their team. But as far as the owners are concerned no praise will be given from me. The owners of Leicester, in spending significant sums, damaged our club, by making it less likely we would be promoted and partially creating an environment where we were drawn into incurring debt.

Leicester seem really concerned with any FFP fine they will be getting. NOT !

Newly-promoted Leicester City's owner wants a top-five finish in the Premier League within three years - and will spend the money needed to get there.

The Championship title winners have returned to the top flight after a decade-long absence.

Billionaire Thai chairman Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha outlined the club's next steps to reporters in Bangkok.

He said: "It will take a huge amount of money, possibly 10bn Thai Baht (£180m), to get there. That doesn't put us off.

That's Pearson sacked by Christmas then.

The chairman was quote as saying "if the fans can make a song up with my name in it and chant it at games, I'll double it to £360 million"

180M over 5 years is less than 40M per year. Crazy amount but with Palace having a turnover above 100m for last season it will not necessarily mean it ends in tears. What it ends in is a PL where no new teams will ever be able to afford to infiltrate.
