    There have been murmurs on twitter this morning about people going to Sparrows Lane at midday in support of signing up Kermogant. Possible that someone at the nursery has read that and chinese whispers have led to the original post?

    This thread is hilarious. The idea that we would protest on a friday lunchtime at Sparrows Lane and cause trouble at a nursery is absolutely laughable.

    I can see now why the SL fans got so angry. The new owner has no sympathy for the fans or the heartbeat of the club but displays a cold and ruthless drive to maximise HIS investment and HIS wealth. Well, that's OK for business (and let's face it that's all it is to the owners these days) but to me it leaves me without that magical return I always got from football (Charlton I mean) so there is very little left to smile about. I will never stop loving the club and the many priceless memories it has given me over 60 years but the game and the match day experience has changed and no longer thrills me like it did. Good luck to all the younger fans, I hope you get the joys I miss today. So depressed after reading all these unsettling threads. Feels like being at the premature birth of another club. I wasn't ready for all this rapid change from my "almost" comfort zone.

    However, expect to feel totally different and OK again after 5pm Saturday when I read we have won at Wigan. (:
