haha I can't believe someone thinks oohaah is serious with a 0.002% prediction of winning the FA Cup.

Ive had a couple of mint trips to hillsborough. The 1 nil in league one was probably my favourite away of recent years and the 4-2 win in the cup in 2005 was quality as well. I hate wednesday but i love hillsborough... Proper big old school football ground always feels like a big game up there and decent drinking as well. Looking into rearranging my holiday on quarter final weekend now!

I went to Hillsborough many years back when we drew them in the cup. Think we won 4-2 or something. We were attacked by a few skinhead Wednesday fans on the way back to the car. They shouted "your kind don't fit in round here" as they jumped on the bonnet of our car. Lovely people.
  • They got a slap that day, it was old school day out.Remember one of there lot being interviewed on the box with a shiner that he said he got off Charlton.
  • Never got over it either NSS.

Unbelievable. At least it's winnable I suppose. With Sheffield Utd due to play at home in the league, but needing a cup replay first, will they tell them to switch their league game to the Friday in case, will our game be on the Friday/Sunday or will we have to wait until they have replayed I wonder.

A great chance to get to the FA Cup Quarter Final, how many times in our history have we been able to say that?

It's a boring draw for both the massives and us but they will sell +20k to give us a tidy return. Our priority is the league so none of our players are going to be distracted by this cup game. Feet on the ground and all that. We might even win it but they were better than us in our recent drawn game at the Valley. One things for sure, we won't be on the telly!

How can a winnable fixture be boring? Either team could win making it exciting. Chelsea or Citeh would shred us apart in the first half. The 2nd wouldn't be worth talking about as there would be double figures.

    John Hartson on the draw....

"The big one for me was first out - Manchester City v Chelsea. I am delighted for Swansea getting Everton, as they have a great respect for the job Toffees boss Roberto Martinez did in Wales.

"It also gives the likes of Brighton and Sheffield Wednesday a chance to go really far in the competition."

    Wow...We've been written off already

Not the tie we were hoping for but it could have been worse, notably, if we ended up at Wigan or Hull in front of a mediocre crowd.

Hillsborough is an iconic stadium and there is always the enticing prospect of a few excellent pre- and post-match pints in The Fat Cat and The Kelham Island Tavern. Although Wednesday will start favourites with home advantage, there is nothing really between these teams - especially if Connor Wickham can't play - and we have a real chance of making the quarter finals. If we can't do the job on the day, maybe we can cheer up their new manager by bringing them back to our newly manicured cabbage patch.

It's also pretty certain that this will game be on the Saturday at 3 o'clock, which suits all of us - no doubt it will be regarded (not unreasonably) as the least attractive of the eight ties. However, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and I, for one, am looking forward to it immensely.

The last time we were at hillsborough it was such a great game that I will definitely be up for this. The first bit of excitement at the club for a while. We can win this.

Last time we were at Hillsborough we were edalayed on M1 due to traffic caused by steady rain on the Saturday b4 Xmas last season. Lost as a result of some terrible decisions by ref and lax defending.

Well for once both CL and ITV forums in total agreement - shite draw but still with a chance of a 1/4 final berth!
  • I'd arranged to spend the weekend in York, and take the train to Leeds...so I'm just be staying on the train a bit longer!

Not an exciting draw BUT a real chance to progress, with our decent away form.
  • Where's nice to stay for a night near Sheffield? Don't suggest Leeds or Donnie!

Meadowhall Travelodge is a good one. Tram all the way to Hillsborough. Free parking. Next to m1 if driving up. Or if you've got a few quid, St Paul's McDonald hotel in town is really nice, grand piano type place! If anyone's up Friday night owlerton dog track is a good night out if you're in a group.
