    Doncaster have signed Manchester United striker Federico Macheda on an initial one-month loan deal.

    Macheda, in the final year of his contract at United, watched Rovers' goalless draw with Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield from the directors' box at the John Smith's Stadium on Saturday and reported for training at the Sky Bet Championship club's Cantley Park complex on Monday morning.

    He is expected to go straight into Paul Dickov's squad for Doncaster's league trip to Watford on Tuesday night.

    The Italian has failed to live up to his early promise since bursting on to the scene with a superbly-taken last-minute goal on his debut to earn United a 3-2 victory over Aston Villa at Old Trafford in April 2009.

    Loan spells with QPR, Sampdoria and Stuttgart, where he spent the last five months of last season, have followed but the 22-year-old has struggled to score goals at all three clubs.

    Macheda's last appearance for United came last December in a Champions League defeat to FC Cluj where he came on as a second-half substitute.

    Brighton & Hove Albion have completed the loan signing of Swansea City striker Leroy Lita.
    The 28-year-old, who has not featured for the Premier League side this season, joins Albion until 1 January.
    Lita had spells on loan at Championship sides Birmingham City and Sheffield Wednesday last term.
    Brighton were keen to bring in a new striker after Leo Ulloa was ruled out for two months with a broken bone in his foot.
    Former Bristol City and Reading player Lita joined Swansea from Middlesbrough for £1.75m in August 2011.
    He scored two goals in 18 appearances for the Swans that season but has not featured since Michael Laudrup took charge at the Liberty Stadium last summer.
    The former England Under-21 forward scored nine goals in 27 appearances in the Championship during his loan spells with
    Birmingham and Sheffield Wednesday.
    "He is strong, fast and direct, and he has shown he can score goals in the Championship," Brighton head coach Oscar Garcia told the club website.
    "He offers us something different going forward."
    Lita will be available for Albion's trip to Yeovil Town on Saturday, subject to international clearance.

    That's a pretty good record, I seem to remember him being another of the 'can't be bothered loanee' brigade. Must have him mixed up with someone else... we could do with him right now based on those stats!
