So we have a glasses wearing male of 56, who is a long standing Charlton fan who isn't rich enough to bankroll the club. Who has a sense of personal morality by which he judges others. Does not like poor behaviour by our lumpen section of fans, and has possibly an unclear sense of the hierarchy of employees during recent years at Charlton.
    Any more....?

    64 apparently - and possibly a former chemist.....(probably a degree in chemistry).....

From the 'Here is how I see our situation thread':

Hooray. If I train harder than Rooney et al I can still be a professional footballer; at age of 64. I knew my career advice teacher was wrong when he persuaded me to select a career in chemistry.

The Chemistry is a red herring, it was only the advice from the careers teacher, could be any kind of job. Margaret Thatcher has a Chemistry Degree, but didn't spend her time cooking amphetamines.

Not necessarily a red herring - he says the 'career advice teacher...persuaded me to select a career in chemistry' - not just 'advised'.....

As for Margaret Thatcher as a young chemist she famously devised a method of pumping more air into soft ice cream - immortalised on this Mr Whippy 'history of ice cream' webpage:

    http://www.mrwhippyicecream.co.uk/the-history-of-ice-cream/

What all this has got to do with Wiggins gawd knows....

Yes there is. Slightly ashamed to say that I've always found that amusing.

  • It is impossible to calculate the debt of gratitude we owe to AB and Steve Dixon & the rest of the VOTV boys even in the early dark days at selhurst their imformation was 99% correct - keep on posting Rick.
  • The drugs don't work , they just make you worse.
  • Seth bleeding Plum. Not flush with millions. How do you know? And surely that is the point. YOU won't put in money but expect others to. This whole forum is made up of possible Jeremy Kyle victims aiting for something or someone to save their club and hen they do, moaning. Just like the beggar who asks for a pound for cuppa and gets 90p so calls his benefactor a stingy git. I came on today because it was raining. I was going to work in the garden. Nice out now so have fun
  • Seth Plum. Gawd you is always wrong. I worked at the same lab bench as Margaret Thatcher at Atlas Paints. Her husband the delightful and charming Denis Thather owned the company his dad set up. Now he was not pot less.

I went to school with Laurie Parks, Chris Parks older brother. Now can

  • I'm a bit worried based on the description of having nothing to do in his garden when it's raining that this might potentially be my old man on the turn. Going to have to call him to make sure in a minute.

Churchills bleeding Butler. When we had the 'five year season ticket appeal' whilst playing at Upton Park prior to our return to the Valley I got a quote for a new roof on my gaff. Armed with the quote, and a persuasive manner I went to the Halifax. They increased my mortgage, and paid over the money for the roof quote, which I promptly took and used to buy a five year season ticket, and the roof remained as it was.
I (yes I paid it off eventually) did indeed put money in. Sorry to disappoint you my friend, there are plenty of other ways you can attack me, but the one you chose was a fail I'm afraid.

Glad to hear you got a job with your chemistry qualifications, and my red herring idea turns out to be wrong.
Has anyone asked: 'Margaret Roberts, did you shag it?'.
