Experienced and prolly not costing too much. I'm pleased with this. He's a good player.

Pleased he's stayed on. Very good first half of the season, then kept out by Dorian's (who I hope signs up aswell) good form at the end.

Leon's no world beater, but I wouldn't have any worries seeing his name on the team-sheet at this level.

Looking at CP's comments, looks like Dorian will be signing up

It looks like Chrissy is getting to work on next season's team/squad. We'll have to wait and see where it all ends up but I don't imagine I could have more confidence in anybody else to make us better.

Said Powell: “We’re pleased to have Leon’s experience on board again for next season and, alongside Michael Morrison and Dorian Dervite, we have three good centre-backs competing for a first-team place.”

Can't argue with Powell there, it'll be interesting whether he brings in a 4th CB or use youngsters like Feely.

Very happy Leon is staying. Solid and experienced.

CPs statement suggests Dervite is also staying.

He's good at this level - realistically we are not going to get that much better a player.

I've been impressed by Cort's intelligent defending - he patrols the back line carefully, is quick to intercept, and his headed clearances usually land at the feet of one of our players. He's a strong asset.

Had the pleasure of sitting next to him at the POTY dinner (came across as a really decent & humble man) and he said he had a year left on his contract, so not really understanding this...........

Maybe because he already knew he was going to sign?

Goo player. A bit like Evans at Man Utd. Who really should be playing for England. Can't understand why terry etc are picked above him

Surely this suggests that Feely and Ajayi will compete for the 4th CB position?

Could well be and I hope it is but signing Cort doesn't have to mean so.

CP could sign another experienced CH tomorrow for all we know.

Gary Doherty could be the answer. Dependable. PL and international experience. And he's only 33.

Still find it incredible how bad he was for us given his previous experience.

I can't see that an experienced CB, if he was any good, would be happy to be 4th choice, whereas for Feely and Ajayi that would be a step forward.

Maybe the new experienced CB won't be 4th choice, maybe they will be first choice.

As I said I think they'll go with Feely but the re-signing of Cort doesn't prove it either way.

Feely does seem to be a leader, and he is also older, so you're probably right there. But when CP says that he will have 3 CB's competing for positions that's how I interpret it, although events may prove me wrong.

I think he might decide to go with Kevin Feely.

He is left footed so offers something different,he made the bench towards the end of the season.I think it is a shame he did not make his debut in one of the last few games because in the U21 game I saw against Barnet I thought he looked very assured.

SCP has said previously he likes the balance that genuinely left footed players give us and if the media reports from last summer's window are to be believed he tried to sign Jason Shackell and George Friend.
