Delighted about the Cort news. Hugely underestimated as a CB. Naturally strong defender, misses nothing in the air and very clued up positionally. Always ahead of Dervite for me but Dervite is younger and had been out for while so should be improved for next season.
Three good CBs for next season and hopefully with Wiggins and Solly either side.
well happy at this also. quality player. need another 2 cbs though really....maybe feely can be the 5th but you cannae start a season with 3 CBS.
you know what you get with leon cort. great quality for a defender, reliable and never has a shocker. id be worried about him paired with dorian though as surely not a yard of pace between them.
nice one...much happier leon stayed than danny haynes. then again, still wouldnt be that surprised if haynes came back on reduced terms.
I think with Taylor going we'll bring in another centre half. I think we need to be stronger there than Morro and Dervite personally, as well as they played together for the last few weeks. One injury and one suspension and you're in trouble. Not quite the trouble Pardew found himself in with just one centre half, but you need 4.
I'd be quite happy with Feely as 4th CB. One of the outstanding players in an outstanding u-21 team. Start him the League Cuip or whatever it's called and take it from there.

If Feely is good enough for the 1st team, then it might be counter productive to sign another CB ahead of him, and might send the wrong signals to our youngsters. After all once Rufus came into the team, he quickly became a fixture.

Agreed. I really want 2-3 of the youngsters to be given their chance next season. Feely would be one of them.
I have raved about Feely before and especially about his leadership skills (always communicating in a booming voice).
However, last couple of u21 games I saw at Sparrows Lane he did get beat by skillful opponents when pulled out wide. This gives me some cause for concern about whether he is ready. Probably be good to assess in pre season matches and up against Yann/Harriot in training.
Not entirely sure either he is above Ajayi in our management eyes. Ajayi did play in the conference last year after all.

Bit of good news amid gloom at #cafc, Leon Cort set to play in a reserve game tomorrow.
To be fair, our CBs have been relatively good this season, it would be them that gets us relegated
However, our problems are at the other end of the pitch.
