Overrated Footballers

I watched City v Ajax in the week and thought Balotelli and Nasri are massively overrated, both are talented but not consistent enough IMO, so what Premiership players do you reckon are overrated?

I think two of our biggest names are overrated in "world class" terms. Rooney and Gerrard.
  • Theo Walcott - If he couldn't run that fast he'd be a nobody.

  • Carrick, gives the ball away a lot.
  • Rooney. Never steps up to the mark in the games that really matter.

  • Ribery is a great shout. Michael Dawson, I've seen Hudson turn quicker.
  • Rooney. Never steps up to the mark in the games that really matter.

Yeah that overhead he scored against city was rubbish.

No, I think Phil Jones will be a cracking player, Kyle Walker is already a cracking player too. Do you disagree then?

To be honest I think its too soon to tell. I believe you cannot really look at a players career until it is over. Also with all the negative comments that English players get from fans and press alike due to the high expertations they have its hard to see that overall these players are overrated by the majority of people.

  • Whilst I see what your saying I still think you can rate a player on current ability whatever there age is, not saying they won't go on to become great players. The overated is not exactly clear as you say its hard to be overated by the majority of people. I generally gage my opinion on overated by what the pundits and press say but I was at the gym the other day and someone described Sturridge as magical, I did have a little chuckle to myself.
