SCP has stated he wants 2 first teamers for every position. How do you think he sees our current squad and which positions will he strengthen? This is how I think he sees it.

GK
Hamer
Sullivan

RB
Solly
Wilson

LB
Wiggins
Evina

CB
Morro
Cort
Taylor
Mambo??

RM
Waggy
Green

LM
Jackson
Cook

CM
Hollands
Stephens
Pritchard
Hughes??

FWD
Kerm
BWP
Haynes
Hayes

We also have Clarke who may see some first team action and possibly Bover. I think Powell will be looking to replace Hughes in CM with possibly Russell and im not so sure on Mambo but apart from that I believe SCP, the board and probably more importantly the investors see the current squad as good enough to achieve expectations.

Mambo says he's been told he's going out on loan to a League One club, so I guess we're looking for another CB.......?

Agree, and maybe even up front with a replacement for Hayes and Clarke. Would also replace Green.

Don't see Mambo and Bover anywhere near the first team next season.

agreed .. he's just thinking about his job ... managing a football team

i think he is getting on with his job because he is a level headed guy who has been in footie all his life and knows he has to get the squad ready for the kick off no matter what happens.

I would hope that we get a ood quality loan player in the centre of midfield.

would have prefferd cousins as the cover/challenger for RB, especially as Wilson just played a whole season RM .....

Never rated Sullivan, so would prefer better cover for Hamer, too.

Agree with this, Sullivan always looked nervous to me, It would be goo dto get better cover.

Sullivan is the only one there who I wouldn't have anywhere near the first team if an injury came up. The other back-ups look relatively solid.
  • To be fair to Sullivan, he has looked nervous when hes played but he hasnt really had a decent run in the team to settle those nerves. I think he is good enough to step up to the mark if required.
  • I'm not having a go at anyone, and I'm not disagreeing with anyone, but at the start of last season we thought Sullivan was a really good signing who had command of his penalty area , lack of first team football has had a big effect on him.

Possibly, but he didn't even look assured on some of the most basic of goalkeeping tasks in the games he played in last year. Preston away was probably the worst of the lot. Seemed to drop every cross, letting balls fumble away from him etc.

If it's an area we can improve, then we should go about doing it. I know it's not a critical area of the squad, but he looked so dodgy in the games he played in last year that he could have cost us a number of points had he played more regularly.

and in games last year Hamer looked one of the most dodgy keepers in the league but he was given a chance and ended up having a pretty decent season.

Maybe the answer is to have an older more experienced keeper on the bench, someone you know who is a safe pair of hands, I hear David Seaman is not up too much these days? :-0

To be fair, Sullivan is the least of our worries. keepers are the least likely to pick up an injury or suspension. Also, I agree that Sullivan would probably be decent if he was given a chance. Nerves have got the better every time he's played last season.
  • Id add Silva and azeez to that Squad i hope we utilise them correctly as both have a lot to offer in the right games

Pope seems to be rated highly from what i've heard. Never seen him play myself so cannot comment.

agreed. These two seem very level headed too, hard workers. On the other hand I can imagine Callum Harriot has some talent but a bit of a bad attitude. Of course I'm basing all this on what I see on Twitter!
  • I think silva, azeez and harriot will have a season out on loan first before being considered for first team selection.

don't rate Sullivan at all especially after his performance at Preston last season. Need a decent CM, another CH (don't rate Mambo) and another striker as I'm sure Hayes and Clarke will go. Green or Waggy will I am sure depart, Green imo, which is a shame as I like both and I don't think Green has shown what he is really capable of. Wilson will be first chioce RM imo especially away from home. Up front need a decent partner for Kermy/competition for BWP with Haynes and Cook in the mix too.
  • Sullivan obviously being advertised on http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BQCvDccwZCo
