Well done to Dave Berry, named as new host of the Capital FM breakfast show. Looking forward to lots of Addicks references!

Lives in Charlton with his bird from Atomic Kitten, on Eversley Road I believe. Hopefully he'll make up for the rest of the media's apparent lack of interest by dedicating half an hour every morning to talking solely about how great we are.

What happened to Graham Deane? He did the Capital Radio Breakfast Show on 194M MW the last time I listened.

Who is Dave Berry? Was he in Are you Being Served?

I'm really pleased for him but he is getting absolutely slated by Johnny Vaughn fans (I guess) on the Capital website:

    Show him love Addicks!

That's the one, think her names Heidi, but as you've probably guessed, I kow sweet fa about any music post 1995!

Vaughan got axed because of his age (47 I think). Apparently under the terms of their broadcasting licence they have to target an audience in the 15 - 35 years old bracket so had to get someone younger in.

Is it because he's a twat? Actually, thinking about Breakfast Show hosts that seems to be more a pre-requisite than a problem!

Vaughan got sacked cos he's an annoying twat and people stopped listening to him.

Without being biased towards DB, he is a really funny guy.

    Who's Johnny Vaughn?

When I listened to 194 it was Tony Myatt, Kerry Juby, Peter Young, Roger Scott, Nicky Horne, Gerald Harper, Michael Aspel, Kenny Everett, Dave Cash and bloody Gary Cowely!

  • Obviously don't listen to Capitol but reading some of the comments he dosen't seem a popular choice.

Dave Berry was in the West stand on Monday. Saw him on the concourse after the match. He goes occasionally to games with his Dad.

Where do Capital broadcast from now? I'm based in the old capital radio building (Euston Tower) where i believe it all started. People claim to have seen Pat Sharp's mullet which apparently still haunts the corridors at night and refuses to die.

Haha I remember going to the Euston Tower (Music Power) in the 80's to pick up a car sticker! (I'm such a geek!)

They are in Leicester Square now above Yates and the Wetherspoons.

Sadly, I can still remember Michael Aspel's jingle which went something like "Michael Aspel makes you throw up, Michael Aspel makes you puke".

    Good luck to DB.

    The Flying Eye!

I appeared on Graham's quiz, Minute to Win It in 1985. I was on every morning for a week competing against a colleague called Mandy whilst we were both at Barclays Bank Greenwich (East). I won and ended up with £306 which was quite a few quid in those days.
