  • Please ask him what went wrong with Dowie/Reed etc, would be good to hear a view on it from inside. And he cant hide behind a court case etc because its been settled.

Also ask him if it is true that the players were told around 2008 after parky was sacked that Aidy Boothroyd would be taking charge.

I think it was Fulham A, the game we hoped to get at least a point from, after being bottom from 6 (ish) really tough games.

I heard that Iain Dowie's brother Bob was in our dressing room, giving out instructions, despite being employed by Palace at the time.

Is this true & did he go to see The Chairman to complain at HT ?

How did he escape doing the dirty work in Midfield with such a clean record of red and yellow cards

Who was the best Charlton player he played along side and where does he think we'd have finished if Parker had stayed until the end of the season?

Who was the longest in the shower?

  • How does it feel to get away with impersonating a professional (international) footballer for more than 12 years?

Probably something akin to impersonating a knowledgeable football fan! So you should know the answer already!

Did he answer questions re Dowie/Reed?
In a roundabout kind of way. An interesting response it has to be said.

Seeing that he made it to international level played in the best league in the world and was made Captain.... I'd assume his impersonation was brilliant! To keep it going for 12 years is pretty amazing too.
  • Listened to the interview, wish you had made him explain more about the Dowie/Reed/Robson situation, quite interesting though. Cheers for the shoutout, wish i'd asked a question about Pouso.

Yeah, maybe. He said he will be back so lets hope we get another chance!

Interesting though that he saw the dynamics wrong.
  • Good interview though BDL.

Just goes to show Sir Murray made his first wrong choice appointing an assistant coach and First team coach before appointing the manager. I took Matt's response as if all 3 wanted to be in-charge.

Maybe if Dowie had his own coaching staff he may have fared better?

I think that's how Matt saw it.

Still think Dowie would have gone anyway, regardless of whether he had his own staff.
  • Maybe but didn't help that two of his coaching staff undermined him.

Dowie was clueless, he would have failed miserably anyway, regardless of whether or not the coaching set up was wrong.

Incidentally, I had to laugh the other day, when he expressed an interest in the Northern Ireland job and stated that he felt his CV "stood up to scrutiny". Since leaving Palace he was the primary contributor to our relegation, got sacked at QPR, got sacked at Coventry, helped Alan Shearer get Newcastle relegated,  and made sure that Hull got relegated. But he has got a degree in rocket science.

Didn't Dowie have a degree in Aerodynamics?
