He's basically another Thogden/Goldbridge type.
Was a QPR fan but switched to Arsenal for social media purposes. He's now sitting there in a Charlton shirt, delivering a promo, despite being a fan of two other London clubs.
It's just shameless behaviour.
But the majority of the fanbase beyond an age demographic, am sure wont have a clue who he even is0 -
And even if they did, wouldn't be bothered about something so trivial.ForeverAddickted said:

Can’t believe they haven’t deleted it yet. It’s embarrassing and cringe, just look at the commentsBraziliance said:

It's a good video, but it's completely missed the mark. It should have been someone Charlton doing it. Instead it's:
- Arsenal/QPR fan content creator
- Bit of a bellend
- No connection with Charlton at all.
There's trying to bring in a new breed of fans, but then there's insulting your current loyal fans as a price.
This could have been done by Curbs, Bowyer, any club legend who has been a part of us for big occasions like tomorrow.
Instead we picked some content creator with no affinity to us, and probably paid him to do it as well.
Such a massive own goal. Worse than the Wrexham scarf fiasco.
Putting out a video before a play off final should be the easiest thing in the world to do to get fans up for it and goosebumps ahead of tomorrow. Somehow they’ve fucked it up and pissed everyone off.I don’t think the club care though, it’s clear they are targeting social media interactions whether they are good or bad, and don’t care how much of a laughing stock it makes us4 -
A massive representation of our fans are on twitter. Twitter accounts for more of our fans than Charlton Life does.ForeverAddickted said:

If your whole reply section of over 200 or so comments is negativity, and the tweet has over 100 quotes of negativity, the chances are, you've probably made a mistake as a club.
These things do matter, as you're meant to be proud supporting your club, and should care what the main pages push on social media.
Goldbridge was bad, Wrexham was worse, this is a different level.
It would be different if a club like Sheffield United paid Sean Bean to deliver a promo, there's a connection there and he's a great speaker.
Our club has presumably used actual cash to get someone who doesn't support Charlton to deliver a promo, that actively supports another London club.
Fair enough people on here won't care, but there are clearly a large amount of people who do care how our club represents itself.
Stuff like this makes it clear to me whoever makes these decisions doesn't understand the mindset of your general football fans.8 -
I’m ashamed to know a bit about him as I’ve been unfortunate to come across his socials before. He’s a QPR fan that decided to support Arsenal to become some kind of content creator/influencer. TragicWright6679 said:

From my perspective I'm embarrassed about that video, just like I was all the other antics, if you're not, that's fine.
I can't understand why you wouldn't have an issue with them paying a QPR/Arsenal/whatever other team he will decide to support representing us, but again, that's your view on things.
Not even sure how to reply to the last bit tbh.
I just want my club to be normal and read the room, not much to ask for. We don't need Goldbridge, we don't need half and half scarves and we don't need Arsenal fans speaking on our behalf.
A person I admire like Chris Powell, Curbs, etc would have been just fine and had a better impact on our fanbase.11 -
Many things are forgettable on Twitter. They do or don't go viral, then within days/a week, something else grabs everyone's attention to be positive/negative about. At the end of day, getting a result on the pitch tomorrow is all that really matters this weekend. Not whatever the club has made and posted online.5

Meanwhile back at the Ranch we've got a game on our hands tomorrow...🤦♂️8

So maybe that'll require using the likes of this fella / Goldbridge to appeal to those who arent already fans - As unless you've been a long term fan of Charlton already, you're not going to know who Curbs / Powell are, and what their connection to the club is either?
My point was more, about how easily things like this embarrass you, more so than posts from people who claim to be "fans" saying they'd rather see us lose, or out of the Play-Offs entirely... Because at the end of the day... Its a f**king video!!... OTT reactions like that are the embarrassment, I mean its the sort of reaction from someone in the school playground... Maybe I've just grown up too much!!
Maybe I did take your post a bit personally, but then you need to choose your choice of words a bit better: "These things do matter, as you're meant to be proud supporting your club, and should care what the main pages push on social media." - I took that as you talking to me7 -
I repeat; negativity sells on Social Media... Twitter is a cesspit of negativity these days
Things get done, things get said deliberately to cause traction (I still don't believe that idiot who said that Haaland would flop when he joined the Premier League, he said it to sound stupid so the video would be watched back time and again to help them get revenue, which is what happened).
The same could be said about this, its got people talking... People arent liking it, so there is more a chance it'll blow up, non-Charlton fans will take a look, non-Charlton fans who maybe didn't realise we were in the Play-Offs... They might watch the game, and as a result, see us entertain, maybe see us go through the heartbreak of losing at Wembley, and fall in love with the club like we have done.3 -
CHILL EVERBODY...life's too short...

4 -
I think that’s a bit of a reach, the only interactions are other fans laughing at us. They’ve not done it to attract new fans, they’ve done it to boost their interactions so they can say we’ve had this many impressions, which they can then take to sponsors etcForeverAddickted said:I repeat; negativity sells on Social Media... I think it will be a tight and slightly nervy affair, certainly in the early stages. A lot will depend upon whether some or all of the three injured regulars are back - especially Lloyd Jones - and, if so, whether they are 100% fit.
Kone hasn’t scored since mid-March, so he’s due a goal although, against that, we have the most in-form striker in the division in Matty Godden. After a couple a quieter games, I also fancy Tyreece to make his mark in these two games, especially if Small is fit to attack on the right.
Given the element of fragility and negativity surrounding Wycombe at present, the first goal will be vital and any belief may drain out of them if we can score it. According to the ‘Not the Top 20’ podcast, Charlton scored the first goal in 23 of their 46 league games this season and gone on to win 22 of them - an incredible statistic.
Let’s hope we can, at the least, be on level terms when we go back to The Valley next Thursday.5 -
So if this is the case I still don't see the issue... More / New sponsors potentially means more income... No?NabySarr said:

Impressive video with Docherty yesterday, loved that.
Was surprised to see some kind of remake of it today, although I have/had no idea who the chap in this new video is.

No second video required .
Keep it simple & don't dilute the impact especially with someone involved that means zilch to the average Addick.
Total waste of precious money we can ill afford.

The Club needs to be more aware of what it's doing really. I don't know who the 'star' of this video is but now I've been made aware I can see why the more social media active amongst us would be irked by it. If such a video is needed at least get someone Charlton Athletic related to do it.
Is this something that should be amongst the remit of the shadow board or whatever it is to which we voted two participants. Has it ever convened? That seems to have gone deathly quiet like most of these initiatives always seem to do.0 -
Think people are seriously overestimating how much he’d have been paid. Is it a bit odd? Yeah. Would I have done it? Probably not. Will it be remembered by the majority after the play offs? Definitely not1

Not interested in Twitter in the slightest, but is this in fact a "real" video, or AI generated, I mean a lot is apparently possible today, is it really CAFC here at all...🙄1

As someone who worked in promotions and marketing for our national broadcaster and made promos for major sporting occasions, cultural & historic events & makes commercials
This trailer is simply just b*****s, a real shocker, just cringe…no emotion, energy, passion. Huge own goal picking the gormless prat to deliver the lines, music terrible , editing rubbish.
Sack the prat in CAFC comms dept who commissioned and signed it off. Along with the ticket fiasco, that’s two own goals already and we have plenty of time for more!
