Gotta say I do enjoy penalty shoot outs.
Every Sunday league final I've been to (as a supporter) that ended in penalties, I've come out on the winning side. Remember a coach trip to Carshalton FC with the Horse and Groom years ago and a couple to Croydon Athletic, I think one was with the old Cons / Liberal Club. @DA9 or @ROTW should be able to confirm who and where. Great days on and off the pitch and in the pub after.

Is NJ the type of manager to substitute his keeper in the 29th minute of extra time if he feels the one on the bench is stronger at saving penalties? I wouldn't put it past him.0

I know it's a bit of a dirty word but ultimately we watch sport as entertainment and the drama of penalties is very entertaining. I will always watch a penalty shoot out if I can, even if I haven't seen the match before it because they're great drama0

I absolutely love penalties. It's the most memorable way to win an important game. Pure ecstacy for the winners, agony for the losers.
I'll have to confess I loved every second of our shootout Vs Doncaster, one of the best experiences of my life, wasn't at the Sunderland shootout.
We were very lucky to witness a penalties win followed up with an injury time winner last time. More of the same drama please.

I thought they were great, would love to see them trailed in a youth tournament. There's a debate that they're more skilful then a normal shoot-out.ForeverAddickted said:

Hate them, but it does seem the fairest way. On another note I would scrap extra time and get stuck into the penalties straightaway.2

Sure but the counter argument is that it gives the shootout losers 30 mins to “right” the result of the shootout. If they can’t do that, then it’s been settled by them not being able to score within those 30 minutes.MrOneLung said:
