  • I'm glad to see Stockport out of the equation.
Be interesting to see how they do next season
  • Everyone seems to be shitting themselves about playing Orient all of a sudden

Was it Keeley who got booked in the shootout?     If he had already been on a yellow in the match, how would that have worked out in a shootout scenario?     Has it ever happened before i.e. keeper sent off during any penalty shootout for a second yellow?
  • Orient's last loss was 10 games ago.
They've also lost both League games against us

Orient will be tough to beat, but lets not start acting like we'll be underdogs
    Scores at 90 mins: 0-0 (h) and 1-0 (a)

    FT scores: 1-0 and 1-2.

All three goals we've scored in the league against Orient have been 90+ mins.

    Drama.

Oh yeaaa I forgot about that as well, especially if you include the EFL Trophy game, three matches... six goals, just one goal scored prior to the 90th minute
  • Orient keeper dropping the F bomb on Sky

Two draws against Stockport is decent enough I suppose but they ended the season with these seven opponents:

Wigan, Mansfield, Crawley, Barnsley, Cambridge, Wycombe, Huddersfield.

Their last loss 10 games ago was against Burton.

They're good but they're beatable, by Charlton or by Wycombe.

Happened to Emi Martinez a couple years ago - the yellows from the actual game don’t carry into the shoot out - so you have to be booked twice during the shoot out and three times overall to be sent off

    What I was thinking
  • My prediction from Page 1 of the "Will we win the playoffs?" thread, posted on May 4:

"Orient beat Stockport on penalties after two drawn matches."
    Twilight Zone music playing.😂

80% of the Orient “fans” at the final will be West Ham!
You may jest but I actually work with 2 West Ham season ticket holders and they have said if Orient get through and play us, they will be going!

If Keeley had been on a yellow going into the shootout do you think the ref would have shown him a second yellow?

    No, I don't think so.

If the shoe was on Mannion's or AMB's foot though ...
  • Personally looked to me as though early on it wasn't going to be Stockport's night. To me they were definitely the better side but doesn't always work out that way. Orient hung in, rode their luck and bingo. Certainly don't fear them if we get them

Not enough misery in their lives watching Wet Spam losing week after week, they're gonna miss them playing away to Ipswich on the last game of the season to watch Clapton Orient lose to the mighty Charlton?!

Pretty sure that means if we do make it, we won’t be playing in Red
  • Will make it a big final now.
Orient sold about 22-23k for the League One play-off final in 2014 - would be surprised if they sell out this year.
Yes. I meant I see them as ‘bigger’ than Stockport  and the ‘derby’ factor now means it’s a different type of game than might otherwise have been
Wycombe v Orient is hardly a derby game.
  • I was absolutely fine before watching tonight’s game…I’m bricking it now!

We finished higher in the League than Leyton Orient, we should be in red
Think it’s based on who made the final first but could be wrong
  • Omar Beccles a very impressive character, spoke really well.

Orient look like a bunch with a fantastic team ethic who work their guts off to over achieve.

Chair of the PFA so defo got something about him. Weren't we linked with him a while back?
  • If we do get through, it’s obvious the media will fawn over Orient. The fairytale narrative writes itself — nearly went bust, dropped to non-league, and now battling their way back. Meanwhile, we torpedoed our own Premier League era and have spent the last 15 years mostly bungling around in League One. No one’s going to care about that.
