Controversial opinion maybe... but I think we are better off having the first leg at home. We have shown on a couple of occasions recently that we can win 3 or 4 nil at home. I worry about a performance like today, Peterboro or Rotherham. I feel more confident about us holding a lead than pulling one back... Just me?
Got ya wish today mate...
If we win next Saturday, and Wycombe or Stockport win, we'll get 4th
I think this result has put 3rd beyond us
Not if the other 2 draw............and we win by at least 7 goals. Easy peasy
I think to finish 3rd a 6-0 win would be enough to finish above Stockport if they draw 0-0 (on goals scored) or 1-1 (identical goals record, but more wins in our favour).
Fully expecting Wycombe and Stockport to play out a boring draw.
Unless we go crazy, a draw ensures they finish 3rd and 4th and both get home second legs. I really don't see either club pushing too much for a win.
If I were Wycombe / Stockport I'd want to win (1) because you'll play the 6th placed team who are on paper a slightly easier opponent and (2) to take some momentum into the playoffs / put a marker down in case the two teams meet again in the final.
Of course, if the game is level coming up to the end of the game I wouldn't be taking unnecessary risks to get the win.
Yeah you'd think Wycombe will go for it - GD means that a loss or draw for them v Stockport means they'll play us in the play-offs whereas a win will see them play Orient or Reading (and guarantee their 2nd leg at home), so they haven't really got anything to lose ...Stockport would be happy with a draw as it guarantees them 3rd (assuming we don't win 7-0...!)

The 7 goal win needed reminds me of the brilliant tweet we put out many years ago when Bournemouth were on the brink of promotion to the Premier League
If Wycombe Stockport draw don't we just need to win 6 nil to finish 4th to give us a better goal difference?
If its 0-0 a 6-0 win would put us 3rd. If it's 1-1 a 6-0 win would put us level on points, GD, and Goals scored with Stockport. I'm not sure what comes after in terms of deciding who finishes higher.

Head to head, wins in season, are the ones I'm picking off. I think that's right. And it'd be us ahead.
I can't imagine that being a target before kick off, but if Burton make it easy for us and we find ourselves 3 or 4 up with 20 mins to go, perhaps we'll push for it. If either Stockport or Wycombe are a few goals up then any win gets us 4th and we'd just see our game out for a win in the same situation.
I have no idea what importance NJ puts on getting a home second leg. If the injury list is as bad as it could be the priority may just be getting through unscathed.
Who knows what will happen? That’s the beauty and chaos of the play-offs! We just have to take it as it comes — whoever we face, whenever the games are — and give it absolutely everything over the two legs. All that matters is getting the better aggregate score or holding our nerve in a penalty shootout if it comes to that. The goal is simple: get to Wembley!
And then… we go again. That would make it our fourth play-off final — an incredible achievement in itself. From there, it's all in the lap of the gods. But with the spirit, belief, and momentum we’ve built, you’d like to think we’ve got what it takes to make it four final victories in a row. Let’s keep dreaming, keep pushing, and keep believing!
While I can Jones, Berry, perhaps TC (he looks like he needs it) and Small being rested regardless of fitness status, I think NJ will put out a pretty strong side to try to get the win needed for that 4th spot. I think some are assuming Burton are just going to turn up and lie down, that won’t be the case. We’re going to need to go for it if we want that second game home leg and not doing so is not in NJ’s nature from what I can tell.

Hoping for this as I'm at a family wedding (marrying a Millwall season ticket holder for her sins!) on the 10th, therefore can't make the 1st leg. This gives me an excuse to slip out and watch this somewhere in a local pub, and only return if we win!
While the home second leg would be nice, I'm more concerned about not playing Stockport in the playoffs, which is out of our hands, as if Wycombe beat Stockport, Stockport will be our opponents.

Injuries are hitting us badly and Jones has never won a play-off as a manager.
But we will go up automatically next season.
Sorted you out there mate eh...😂😂😂
6-0 gets us 3rd if they draw 0-0 or 1-1.
Tbh I'd prefer 4th and Wycombe than 3rd and Orient/Reading.
