Certainly true for now Ketman, but time may tell a different story, especially with the term "commitment". He does however appear to have a genuine footballing past so we'll give him that - for now!

Not his money though, but i agree, of the ones to come in, he seems to have really taken the club to heart.

You have to balance this by remembering that West ham fans had wanted Terry Brown and his board out for more ytears than can be remembered, a very different situation.

Shall we start up an FC Charlton if we get taken over?

Start at the bottom and work our way up?

We could bring Carl Leaburn out of retirement :)

Ahem. There is only one manager on this Board who has managed a winning team at The Valley. AFKA as manager, whatever next. Like putting me in charge of the catering.

There's only one Large Addick, one Large Addick!
Forget FC Charlton, the new start up would have to be called Charlton Unathletic. Don't worry, I wouldn't demand to play.

I've always had some sympathy with the AFC Wimbledon and Man U breakaways, but I'm not enjoying the prospect of thinking of it as reality at Charlton.

WSS - it's high time you took your head out of the sand, mate. I know you're young, but so's MCS, and he's not being naive about what this could all mean.

they're will never be a breakaway.

We as fans have too much control over this club, and its important that never changes.

I don't know if you meant it, i'm sure you didnt, but that came across as very patronising.

I'm in no doubt what it could all mean as i have mentioned on other threads if you have a look at a few of my posts (i.e. RM and the board making sure that we are sold to the "right people") on the subject.

I was actually trying to lighten the mood a bit amongst a bit a downhearted feeling on the board yesterday.

    i think so.

there are still a lot of big voices around who care, who together could organise the troops cohesively at short-notice. And sites such as this would provide a good platform.

I agree with you on this I only hope that such action won't be needed.

i think a lot of heads would need to be pulled out of the sand to get it going (again) ;-)

Seriously though, we're a decent bunch of fans.

We may not have the biggest or loudest support but those who care about Charlton Athletic Football Club are a ew thousand hardcore fans with Valley and Charlton blood running through them.

The passion, drive and direction that can be created by a group of fans can only be good for the future of the club but as kigelia says, i hope it doesnt come to that.

    to demonstrate for what tho?

That you're all going to tell the board they cant sell to the person that they have chosen to sell to?

bet if they read some of these they woudl laugh. Needs must when the devil drives.
  • OI Curb-It, you nicked that from Stephen King....... I know you know........

Unfortuantely, the way of the world, whether we like it or no, is for overseas based takeovers of any club that looks viable and we are a very viable option.

sounds like nigerian/russian links are a load of rubbish....Peter Varney's comments in the programme say:

"I ask fans to ignore any stories in the press, because our shareholders and supporters can rest assured they will be the first to know if there is anything of substance to report"
