  • I can hear it now. We tried to get two players over the line but we just ran out of time.

Burkes a weird one because from the outside it doesn’t look like a ‘bargain bin’ signing. The knowledge that he had severe injury record was there. The whole thing is so od
    So is your spelling.

Actually nothing odd about it. Just another member of the Nathan Jones mutual support group for Luton rejects.

Nathan Jones took such a pasting as manager at Stoke and Southampton that he has developed a siege mentality, stubborn and closed to advice from outsiders. "My way or the highway". He wants to surround himself with yes-men and is more comfortable with those who remind him of his glory years at Luton. This is such a common pattern with public figures, politicians, entertainers and military leaders it is easily recognizable.

Sometimes it works. Stalin got the job done. Hitler didn't. It has worked for Nathan Jones so far. Much as I would like to see us at least try to play football, I realize it could be very dangerous to change strategy now. I think we are stuck with it, at least until the end of the season. I do not think we will get relegated, and we do have a very remote chance of making top 6. Keep your fingers crossed!
Winner of the wiedest post I have ever seen, how did Hitler and Stalin get in a discussion about football, is beyond me.
Hitler was a Schalke fan apparently.

  • Reckon it’ll be two loans till January, CB & RWB
RWB will be permanent …. CB could be a loan ?
  • So what I think you are suggesting is that Stalin is coming in to be number 2 to Jones and Hitler has been ruled out?

Are you Steve Gallen in disguise?
  • Nicole was distraught at the news, but soon cheered up when I told her I had booked a table at the Wimpy Bar in Maidstone. I sure know how to show a girl a good time.

I agree that Nathan Jones loves that siege mentality and does his best work under these conditions. That's why I feel he flopped at Stoke and Southampton as he went there when they were both doing reasonably well, plus I'm not sure the locals took to him. He will say he never got the time at either, but he did have a disastrous start at both. Even we questioned him after Bristol Rovers, but after he beat Birmingham then went on that amazing run after Christmas, we began to believe it was possible.

I slightly disagree that he wishes to be surrounded by "yes" men; player-wise I agree, but he's a wise enough man to know you need to be challenged by those you work with, and he knows we as fans will keep him on his toes. He typically holds his hand up when he's got it wrong and if his position ever became untenable, we'd let him know and he'd walk if he felt he was no longer appreciated.

This is why I feel us and Luton will benefit from Nathan Jones's best days in football management, because for all of his faults, clubs like us are where he does his best work.
  • Just a Hat Trick left...getting very crucial...🤔

Missed a single letter, who cares.

There is something very odd about signing a permanently injured player.

How we play is irrelevant to signing someone who’s body is not up to the rigours of championship football all.

I think NJ and the club medics know a bit more than you, guess they thought it was worth the risk and we probably have a v good player on lower wages/ salary because of it...

Right now somebody is probably taking note for a question at a future Charlton Supporters club quiz night

I won't say a word about the missed apostrophe earlier, or even the now missing "?".

    😁
It’s a football forum not an academic article, shove it up your arse
The country is spending millions to convert our yoof into refined and educated gentlemen, and this is the result.
Don’t worry I’ve got two Masters degrees so I’m plenty educated. Just don’t have time for a couple of smug pricks to dog pile on missing some punctuation rather than discuss transfers.
Corr this guy is like my spirit animal. Loving the fight back, backs to the wall in the octagon stuff this.

Only difference is I have 4 masters and also got 3 girlfriends, not sure how many you have.

Keep up the good fight though mate, this is stellar work.
    lol
