Standing back a bit, the heated discussion about Apter's role seems to come down to whether you think we have everything we need to make a go of it in the Champ based on our current squad. Why would anybody think that can be the case before a ball is kicked? Because NJ and the recruitment team have finished their work? Who knows that, nobody on this forum for sure. Because Apter has played at RWB in some of the friendlies? Maybe that is because we do not yet have a proper RWB and somebody has to play there. I like to put two and two together and make four. We do not have a proper RWB in the squad at present. Rumours are we are looking for one. In the meantime somebody will play in that position. Good luck to them indeed. But does not take away the need to sign a proper RWB. The weird thing is if/when we do sign a real RWB, those who are insistent that Apter is the man will just go silent because they will know it was the right thing to do. So be it.
Ramsey is the one that is super key for us to play more of winger than RWB.. I would suggest if Ramsey is injured, we would look at a more defensive player to play as more traditional RWB.
As Edwards is a little bit more defensive on the left side, he drops in, and allows Ramsey to get a little wider than traditional RCB.
For this reason, I don't think we actually play with RWB, it is more of a wide forward, which Apter plays very well.
I do think we will bring a RB/RWB in during the window to provide cover, or if we change our approach during the season
Jones hasn't got Ramsay playing there! Only if we have an injury crisis...
Bennett for a year then plays Tuesday night would make a lot of sense.
Actually think its more likely to be Lembikasa, we have Enslin who can comfortably play LWB in the cup, we don't have many options on the right.
I wonder if we’ll use Fullah there, as there will be a plan if we can’t bring in a RWB who ticks all the boxes, and as you say we don’t have many options there.
I expect his long term future will be as a CM or AM, but he played WB on both sides plenty of times for the u21s last season, so it’s not new to him.
On Cawley's pod they speculated that we'd probably pause and see how things are looking for the first few games, esp. based on what NJ said about giving Rodwell a few weeks break - sounds about right to me. First few games will shape what we do or don't do around the end of the window.

Ramsay doesn't play there but having him at RCB is very important as it lets us play a more attacking "wingback" as he has the pace and ability to defend that wide area.
I reckon we have some targets set up for RWB and CB cover and I think we will see how it goes for these first few games with our players which show alot of potential and then if needed move before the transfer deadline - and permanent signings - I think we will struggle with loan signings unless it was a Rak-Sakyi profile of player because we cannot guarantee playing time unless it is a high energy player who is happy to come on for 20mins every game.
If it helps, I could rantingly disagree with a comment made a couple of days ago about the Barbary corsairs, slavery and particularly the numbers of Irish people enslaved...
I have done a video rambling about the Championship 1-24 predictions, and discussing us, it was very difficult to do it all in a certain time frame, so it's 40 minutes long, but if anyone is having a slow day

Ramsey isn't playing where? Pretty sure he is our first choice RCB!

I wonder what NJ had in mind for Burke - just an experienced back up for the back 3, or whether a fully fit Burke starts , and in which case instead of who ? My feeling is that if he is ever fit , he will be RCB and Ramsay will move to RWB, especially against sides where we need to be more solid .

I think Burke was about pushing Lloyd Jones and Ramsay to take their performances to another level to keep him out, he's a challenge to them rather than a guaranteed starter

wash your mouth out 😂
Anyway I still think we need cover at RWB
