Apter seems more of an out and out winger to me. I wonder if we'll shift to 343... TC on one side apter on the other?
So we would have to bench 2 out of Godden, Olaofe and Leaburn!!!!
Having that sort of quality on the bench is exactly what we should expect - Apter joining should mean we’ve spent £5-6m or so in fees (and hopefully a bit more to come?), and with that will be a big increase in the wage bill.

No no no ! I still have nightmares about 3-4-3 that we have tried in the past also Ahadme, Leaburn and Godden being picked twice as the front 3 🤦🏻♂️In the mainly poor first 18 games.
3-5-2 or 5-3-2 depending on in or out of possession saw CAFC go from lower half of the table to Wembley play off winners and we have to try to stick to a successful formation not tear it up and start again over the first 10 games of a championship season.
Sure, with the new players there will be a slight tweak but the template is there, we just need the execution of moves, set pieces and our passing to be more accurate against higher class sides to the mediocre League 1.

Problem is TC and Apter are the only players who are natural wingers. Olaofe Carey and Leaburn can play on the wing but they’re better up top and midfield respectively. Cant have 7CM’s fighting for 2 spots, and 4ST fighting for 1 spot. I think 352 with Apter RWB is plan A, but if we need to switch it up then we would look at 343 433 if needed
I think Apter might play the TC roll with either Tanto and Godden but on the right side of the front 2, and when TC plays he will be on the left side of the front 2.
So will Apter replace Small in that right winger/wing back role?
Way too weak to be able to do that. He's also not a pacey winger.
Is it true that he's not pacey? Being a loser, I was trawling what I could find on YouTube, and his FIFA stats reveal video (!) have him being very rapid, and by his own bluster he claimed he was faster than CJ Hamilton. Might be a slight exaggeration but I'd expect him to be up there in terms of pace in our squad.
On FotMob if you actually compare the defensive stats between Small and Apter, despite the fact Apter played more advanced he’s actually better than Small in a few areas. The only thing he hasn’t got on small is headed clearances and even then Small couldn’t head to save his life and actual clearances

In terms of outright numbers you're right but in terms of %'s Small's numbers are way better. That's exactly what you'd expect from someone whose prime position is as a defender though
Morning. Looks like deal done and if you stump up anything north of £2m then I'd be very happy. Rob is 22, still young and to be honest, this will be a major step up for him but I am sure you will have done your research. He's a quick winger who can beat his man. Popped up with a few goals as well. Some rumours of him not being a team player and a bit distant from the rest of the squad but thats probably bollox. As said, I don't think he's the finished product yet but this could be the making of him and I wish him well. Oh, and I'm faster than CJ !! (not really) Re Nathan Jones, our utter dislike of him stems from the play off games a few years back at Luton when he and Hylton (sp?) acted like complete twunts

I don’t think we have signed Olaofe to sit on the bench
Hardly any of our attacking players will be on the pitch for 100 minutes or so and whether a starter or game changer the days of having to start has altered as it's as important to have certain players on the field in the 2nd half and business end of a game. 16 player game now over the duration plus 20 players in all waiting for the nod to either come on or go off.
England women won the last Euros with the game changers coming on in the 2nd half in Russo, Toone and Kelly. Not sure we have that but different types if Miles replaces 'Godden again'.

*just watched some highlights, looks quick enough to me.
I would imagine that most fans, like me, had never heard of him until the rumours sprang up.
Who is the next one in
