Think our priorities have changed .. Ramsey will play the small role now with another right sided centre back coming in possibly two ….. we bring in a young understudy as back up ?
Feel like Ramsey is more a RB in a back 4 than a RWB, he's so good in that RCB role that it would be a shame to move him.
Concerning that Preston are making good signings and they're a team you'd think would be amongst the bottom cohort next season.
I genuinely don't think there is a single standout relegation contender other than Sheffield Wednesday and that's only because of their financial issues.
You could make a case for every other team being good enough to stay up or having the potential to. Usually there is one or two that seem absolute certs, the bigger clubs probably think it is us, Oxford and Hull etc.
Going down in 19/20 was devastating as it was so avoidable, this season the 3 teams who go down will be a lot better than previous years. It's going to be a fantastic season.
Bit worried about the RB situation now we've seemingly missed out on our top 2 targets. Small getting harder and harder to replace.
Preston have done good business and I'm convinced they'll recoup most of the money spent on wages for Small at some point when they sell him. Offiah for a mill as well probably has upside for them.
Might be a case of Jones now shuffling his priorities. Might need to spend a bit more on a RWB and bit less elsewhere. The budget is a moveable feast so will be spread where we have to spend it on most.
With Offiah off to Preston, I feel we are back to being in the dark about potential targets. (Famewo would definitely make sense for all parties, especially as he is left footed). I am sure that the club have got irons in the fire. It would be nice to get a RWB and attacking midfielder in before going away. Think we also need a CB, LWB and striker before season starts.
Maybe enjoyed living up there after his loan with Blackpool.
As said, Kaminski and Olaofe coming in shows we’re paying decent wages, especially Kaminski, and Preston aren’t big payers, so I doubt we’d have been miles off if at all.

Let's see what Chapple has up his sleeve.
Have we missed out .. we clearly did not think the Orient player was worth fighting for and there been no confirmed fact that we were chasing the Brighton lad , only that he may have been someone that been talked about and that’s as far as it got ?
I'm not going to lie, I'm disappointed that we were haven't been able to sign Galbraith and Offiah.
But I'm happy with the business so far and have confidence that Charlton is now an attractive proposition for the kind of players we need to bring in.
I'm not too disappointed though.
Maybe they would have been good signings - but they were both Third Division players last season, and unproven at Championship level.
So were most of those in our team. NJ has been telling us he wants to do more than just survive relegation and be competitive.
Perhaps our current targets played last season at a higher level than the Third Division? 🤔
Can only hope but the only worry for me is these two players were attainable at reasonable prices and would have improved us but we didn't want to push the boat out a little, players that are better than these and are championship proven or a level above will be 2/3 times their price so unless we stop being tight or have a bigger budget than we thought then fair enough but I can't see it tbh.

Literally posting words like this, less than 3 days from paying fees for 2 other players, makes zero sense.

Pretty big fees too, plus the rumoured wages for Kaminski. We clearly aren’t being run on a shoestring but we’re spending what we do have cleverly. I’d rather buy less players but have them be of a higher quality

‘Stop being tight’ this after dropping 1.5 and 1 million on two players. Baffling what people come out with sometimes 😆

Massive outlay sorry mate two players were in for but wouldn't pay a little more it's ok end of the window we might get our plan B and C in or some loans maybe to cover it in sure Mr 5000 millions will stretch a bit more hopefully : ))

And how do you know we wouldn't pay more for them?

Maybe Tanto was the opposite, happy to move back south, and that swung it for us.
All maybes of course, but we'll win some and lose some for non-footballing reasons.
Am guessing we're holding our nerve on contract offers and not letting things spiral out of control with silly numbers, that's good.

How do you know the players wanted to come here?
How do you know they were plan A?
