Sounds like the Galbraith deal is dead. Regardless of whether Swansea can ageee a fee, I can’t see Jones wanting to be kept waiting if EG has said he’d prefer the move to south Wales.
You’d have to think the reason is they’re offering more money, which is fair enough.
But I don’t think there’s much of a credible argument that the Swans are a particularly stronger outfit. They’ve struggled badly the last few years. And of course a move to SE7 means EG wouldn’t have to relocate.
    So have we moved on?

I don't get this whole doesn't rate us narrative Orient fans are pushing with EG. Are Swansea with a first full season manager really that much more attractive than us?

Suspect we've moved onto other targets but I just find it all a bit puzzling.

I dunno did you ever see R9 play he could pick the ball up from anywhere and terrorise a defence.
You do realise that those robots in Star Wars do not actually exist?

same person that said he doesn't see us as a championship club lol
Rich Cawley has also said Galbraith wants to sign for Swansea to be fair.
  • If Swansea do not come in for him, there is a risk that he will leave for a free next summer.

So this guy is saying "if we don't sell him, he'll stay".  Not really sticking his neck out there.
  • And it's not always just about money...Galbraith from Northern Ireland...Swansea is a hell of a lot closer than Charlton if he wants to visit.  Sometimes players (and people in general) have other priorities over money.
  • I think ourselves and Huddersfield are there or at least very close to what Orient want.
What Gailbraith, or more likely his agent wants are where we both probably come up short.
So if that's the case ,Swansea are welcome to him.

    No way really 🥲
  • Galbraith is still upset by our vile behaviour at Wembley.
Did he miss out on a ticket? I was told everybody who wants one will get one

More flights to NI from London than South Wales
That's probably true.  He could always drive to Holyhead and get the ferry!  Who knows...might have nothing to do with a decision one way or another.  My main point was that it's not always money behind a player's choice of where to play...
  • 40% sell on sounds very high, surprised we agreed to that during negotiation. Certainly a lot higher than a standard sell on clause.
From what I can only assume is that it’s 40% off the sell on fee that Stockport receive. We could have given 20% sell on fee and then Millwall will get 40% of that fee?
So, if we’ve paid £1.5m and we sell him on for £2m the profit to us would be £500k, making Stockport’s 20% (?) worth £100k and Millwall’s 40% a princely sum of £40k. Yep, can see why the Spanner’s gave up 40% of Stockport’s £1.35m (?) profit….
But what if we sell him for £10m then it’s not a bad deal.

as an established championship club, the £600k is small change and it’s easy money at low risk for them if we sell him on for big money in the future
He’s a 25 year old who scored 8 goals at L1 level last season. That’s not to say I don’t think he’s a decent signing for you. But I don’t think he’ll be going for anywhere near 10 million any time soon. Or ever.
His overall scoring rate at Stockport and Sutton was just short of 1 goal per 3 games .. in the higher division' IF he makes 1 in 4, that'll be 11ish goals for the season, not super prolific but not many Champ strikers are.
I expect him to at least start the season with Godden and expect them to shake up a few defences. We have a tough start, good for character building and we'll know a lot more by the end of August lol

The chance to win medals to show grandchildren, or taking a cut to play for a hometown team they support, can be motivation ahead of money, as could potentially a deep dislike for the manager (although managers come and go of course).

But unless they've earned enough already to set them up for life (they are a long time retired) then it is absolutely all about the money.

Brad Hills was on loan from Norwich at (guess where ?) .. STOCKPORT last season
Norwich have signed 2 central defenders, Medic and Darling .. soooo Hills might be surplus again
He impressed me with what I saw of him, better in central defence than at left back, (make that right back !!)
IF he's available he'd do for me, signed or on loan, though I do not like loaning players unless it is essential

London to Belfast by plane is 55 mins.

how would he get to Northern Ireland from Swansea? Ferry and a drive or a flight from Cardiff which isn’t overly quicker than from London.

It’s not like he has to drive from London to Stranraer and then get a ferry.

I’ll wager that you can get from London to NI quicker and easier than you can from Swansea.

Swansea are in my bottom three to go down along with Portsmouth and Sheff Wed .
I hope he lives to regret wanting to go to Swansea.
