What do you mean "potential" youngster. He is a youngster, no "potential" about it.

Must have some talent to end up at Inter and then Roma.

Not someone I would want us to be signing with the intent to start, but could be a real gem.

Much prefer the idea of a cheap price with a massive sell on over a loan.

Could be wrong of course but this link stinks of agent talk on overtime to me. Can see he's done some interviews in Irish press lately and is on trial at Sligo Rovers? Would be harsh to pass any kind of a judgement on a lad I've never heard of before today though so if it's legit wish him well, as with anyone who pulls on the shirt

I wonder why we were singled out for such a generous offer ?

The best player for the particular match should play.
When I ran a boys team I always told them that. But then I always picked my nine favorites, plus two boys whose dads would beat me up if I didn't pick them.
Sounds like you would have been a shite boys team manager to me!

Personally felt he looked their best player across the 3 games I watched against orient. Would be good to pull it off

We won the league and I got out with all my teeth intact. I consider that a result.

I signed him on loan on FM a couple of years ago and he played as the 10 behind Leaburn, and they combined for 46 goals as we stormed the Championship, so on that basis we should sign him*

(We'll ignore the fact that we also got taken over in my save and I signed about 15 players that season for almost £70m and did a "Birmingham")

Not in this context, no, I don't. Is it something to do with "dead as disco"?

Not sure I believe the rumour , but Donley was the Orient player I wanted the most above Galbraith and Kelman.

Before we played them I also liked the keeper Keeley  however he was probably the main reason we beat them both at Brisbane Road and Wembley.

I'm just not sure about how Donley tallies with what NJ said last night to Rich about loans. Undoubtedly a quality young player with a very bright future though.

Video of Zefi playing for Sligo.

it may be a fitness thing for him, after four years in Italy, he’s now back in Ireland and trying to find a deal be that in Ireland initially or in the EFL

Here’s an interview with him also about his time in Italy and what he wants going forward https://x.com/seanocsport/status/1947575689286152340?s=46&t=33ikxRKjqn4pNEPW-1jbqg

Was it just me that didn’t really rate Donley much when we played them? I’m sure he’ll have a good career at Championship level or higher eventually but not sure he’s there yet and if he’s just on loan, I think it’d be a bit of a waste. Wages would be fairly cheap maybe

He’s clearly got a lot of ability but tends to be a bit greedy.  If he could see it and time the pass he could be very useful and probably wouldnt be expensive

with 29 goals in 87 games across assorted levels he clearly is no mug and thats a decent return for an attacking midfielder /winger

probably all bollocks but an interesting link nonetheless

I hope if the Donley rumours are true, we have an option to buy.

Left footer, tall, good on the ball, got goals in his game and his assists were double figures last season, covers our attacking mid role.

Would be ideal, just don't see it unfortunately

If that was the case they wouldn’t have rejected bids for TC in January

Unless an owner has a bottomless pit of money, it makes sense to aim to recruit well and grow the club through the occasional sale for a big fee.

A young player who has one good season in the Championship can be sold for several million, potentially £10m+, especially attacking players.

Ezri Konsa is a great example. Sold by Roland for about £2m when we were in L1. After one season in the Championship Brentford sold him for around £12m.

If we're occasionally selling a player for a big fee that's preferable to those days of selling players too early and seeing other clubs make huge profits on them. If it's happening it'll mean we've at least stayed in the Championship and are recruiting well and improving players.
