So, how do you think we've scouted this guy?
Wasn’t one of our investors from Asia? Or have I made that up?
ACA. Minority now but from Japan iirc.
    Singapore

I was going to say it must be a wind up because of his name. Fuck U Da . But seems I'm in the minority & everyone else thinks its genuine.

Genius move getting a Japanese player in. Club will save a fortune when his family and friends clean up the stadium after every game.

A couple things. His crossing almost seems too good for the J League, quite a few chances in that video that weren’t finished. Would bet with better strike options at his disposal he’d have loads of assists

Secondly, Japan starts their season in February and are currently in match day 24 out of 38. Poor guy will be knackered having to start all over

Possibly the most randomly exciting rumor in my time supporting the club, at least one that has legs anyway

Make it happen Nathan and Phil

“It's only 160 million yen. You can't just give it out for something like that.”

“At the moment, they're even hesitant to offer 160 million...
(Good job to the Reinforcement Department for properly rejecting it)”

Loving the link to the Japanese guy. Even if a deal doesn't work out at least it shows we're scouting further afield. I mentioned on here a couple of weeks ago, that with the prices of domestic players these days, it can pay to go shop in foreign markets. Birmingham (whilst spending a lot) have signed 3 Japanese players, and they're a country whose players tend to adapt pretty well to English football.

Ron Saunders was a small centre forward but I was amazed at how good he was in the air. He seemed to specialise in the diving header.
Wasn’t bad as a manager as well.
Got Villis through to quarter finals European Cup as well as winning League the year before.

NB He was sacked at Villa before playing quarter final.
Saunders resigned from Villa. His assistant instead took Villa to European glory. Very good Villa team that, team not a squad as basically the same 11 featured nearly every week.
Yes he resigned 9th Feb 1982 having taken Villis through to quarter finals of European cup.

I have just checked google thank you.

Some manager to resign have won league and sitting in quarter finals of Europes top competition.

I wonder if he has a brother who plays as a striker because my Nigerian wife has been saying how she “needs 2 Fukuda men”
  • Very happy with this. We need an out and out rb/rwb. I think over half the clubs in the championship now have a former J league or K league player in them. The majority if not all, have turned out to be great signings.

Was very impressed by Sakamoto for Coventry in the play offs
  • If he turns out to be anything like Sakamoto of Coventry it would be a great investment.  Zheng was a decent player for us many moons ago very technical and full of energy (lacked a little bit of flair and decision making but overall pretty consistent)

    Wait for it……
  • THE ORACLE HAS SPOKEN…Rich says he’s heard we were targeting a right back from overseas and this could be the one - let’s see how this plays out

Have we considered what the Orient madman thinks?
I would imagine he is furious.

He's a kind of reverse Zen character where we're concerned.

I fully expect that he would assume that "the Orient" can only mean his team, so that we're being vile again.
  • Would love us to sign Fukuda - imagine the shirt sales.

    5ft 8in - doesn't pass the height test for a defender.

    Singapore

Based in Singapore but I believe backed by Japanese capital, with Japanese staff and part of ACA Investments that are Japan/Singapore based.  Singapore mainly for tax reasons.

An amazing number of Japanese players playing in the UK and Europe now. At some point they ought to have a decent World Cup run.

He must be crestfallen that Josh Keeley has remained in League One with a permanent move to Luton.
  • I can't work out who I'm more excited about signing. Some guy from Japan or Ron Saunders.

You'd think it would be good for ticket sales too with Japanese tourists in London. I remember seeing lots of Chinese fans when we had Zheng Zhi.

Apart from lots of running with the ball, making assists, scoring, and making tackles I am not sure what he offers
I don't think he looks technically great tbh. Awkward striker of the ball. Even in a compilation of his best bits, there are a lot of mis-kicks.
