Deadline Day from Pg.641 - Summer 2025 Charlton Athletic Transfer Rumours

Miles being fit is massive. Miles at his best will look right at home in the Championship and arguably should be starting.
I hope we can strike a long term deal with him with a reasonable release clause. So much potential there and I think it would suit both parties now that we are a Championship side and helped with his rehabilitation. Still only 21, the world at his feet if he works hard enough at it.34 -
Any ITK’s got any transfer news for us?0

Burke & Hills are right footed & would compete with Ramsey & Jones (rather than Gillesphey & Bell on the left)4
-
Couldn’t disagree more, Richard Cawley still saying Burke may come in . Plus we’re after atleast another striker , centre mid and we know we need atleast one on the right. And I’m sure Jones will want most in by Slovenia.ShootersHillGuru said:I’m thinking there isn’t anyone else in the pipeline at the moment and anyone we sign going forward is going to be quite late in the window. Still need a striker, attacking cm and to replace Small. That’s a minimum and will probably be quite difficult and perhaps expensive.4 -

Will be plenty going on, this time last week there was nothing on Kaminski and he was announced 3 days later, everyone involved knows the value Jones will put on having people in in this next week before we go to Slovenia so would expect another busy upcoming week9

Sounds good, might be a bit out of our budget.AberystwythAddick said:

I'd say there a lot of players in the pipeline right now.ShootersHillGuru said:I’m thinking there isn’t anyone else in the pipeline at the moment and anyone we sign going forward is going to be quite late in the window. Maybe some a bit further back in the pipeline and maybe not close but the club will still be speaking to lots of players, agents and other clubs all the time.
Players will sign as and when all the parts are in place.11 -
Gillesphey clearly wasn't good enough either last November in the eyes of many.000__Jaaaaay__000 said:
It’s quite clear that he is simply not good enough, why let him run his contract down and us not get any fee whatsoever for him? Not a good business decisionCrispywood said:No point in selling Alex Mitchell, because you probably have to pay 2x the amount to bring someone else in just to do the same job as being cover. We bring in one more CB we have 6 which should be enough. Ideally want someone experienced and in their prime opposed to Brad Hills who has potential otherwise what on earth is Z.Mitchell doing at Charlton
Wouldn't be shocked if Alex left but I also think Jones knows him, he's the right sort of character and could be useful cover.9 -
This one has annoyed me more than it should have. Think he would’ve been a good fit for us. Hopefully the club pull out a good replacement for small equal to or better than offiahValley11 said:

I wonder what went wrong with it. For the story to reach Cawley, you'd think we must've been fairly confident of landing him.Valley11 said:Offiah to Preston now confirmed4 -
I think someone in here said we withdrew our interest.charlton_hero said:

Because I think the next three are probably going to be the most difficult of the signings. A striker and a goal scoring cm all of whom are going to be on everyone’s radar in our budget range.Scoham said:
Why’s that? I don’t think the lack of rumours proves anything either way, Carey came out of nowhere for example, as did other signings last summer.ShootersHillGuru said:I’m thinking there isn’t anyone else in the pipeline at the moment and anyone we sign going forward is going to be quite late in the window. Perhaps my use of in the pipeline was not really correct. I’m sure we have a list and contact with clubs, agents and players are made but what I mean is I don’t think we’re in advanced talks / close with anyone. A striker and goal scoring cm are not going to be easy because most teams will be interested.Henry Irving said:

Anyone else think Marc Leonard would be a good addition to our midfield? Very neat and very good on the ball.10

A full pre-season will hopefully help. Even if he’s not starting then he’s a player that is good at making an impact from the bench which we relied on Aneke to do last season when we weren’t winning games. If he can get fit and consistently play at the level he did around Xmas last year then wow we are in for a treatBraziliance said:Miles being fit is massive. Reece Burke not involved for a split squad Luton side at Boreham Wood....

Yeah 100 percent. Always thought he has been decent and with them signing Doyle, pushes him further down the order and think he would be a good signing for us.MarcusH26 said:
If he was available after Birmingham have signed Tommy Doyle during the week I'd absolutely make a bid.CB1 said:Anyone else think Marc Leonard would be a good addition to our midfield? Very neat and very good on the ball.0 -

Not bothered by Wellens comments about “Charlton style of football”. Call it whatever style you like. One style is now in the champ, and th other is in L1.
I’d rather win ugly, than lose playing beautiful stuff.55 -
Wish I could flag you for that.gringo said:

How is Leaburn not in this line up? Is he leaving?Athletico Charlton said:Squad taking shape but I definitely still see another minimum 5 and which is more than the club has been talking about. Below is all the senior players minus Leaburn, who, given his injuries I see as more of a wildcard. Three of the five (the starters) will need to be top class imo.

Nine subs on the bench, That’s crazy.killerandflash said:
Don't forget that we can have 9 subs on the bench this season, so have space on the bench for at least 3 attackers. I still would like an experienced striker to come off the bench, someone to cause chaos like Chuks did with his strength and physical presence. And to close out games like Hylton occasionally did.Crispywood said:
Wouldn’t say 5 players competing for 2 positions is leaving us short and you aren’t going to do a complete squad flip in one windowkentred2 said:
That would leave us short I reckon. Only one played in championship. Need a more experienced big man and another TC style. Dont know who though.Crispywood said:
Reckon he goes Oloafe, TC, Godden, Leaburn and one more forward signing up top. Loan out Kanu and Mbick and try and sell Ahadme but more likely a loan cause no one will spend money on himElliotCAFC said:With Mbick signing a new long-term contract and coming on in the final, as well as Leaburn returning to fitness, it will be interesting to see if Jones now sticks with what he's got up front and puts the rest of the budget into other areas.
Wonder if anyone of those subs would give us half the service Peacock gave us.
Football is well and truly ……?1 -
Not one Orient fan, player or Wellens wouldn’t swap the performance for the result. Sour grapes and lack of class of the highest order._nam11 said:Not bothered by Wellens comments about “Charlton style of football”. Call it whatever style you like. Think i'll put a wedge on Orient getting relegated this season, they are shot now player wise and by the sounds of it mentally...0
