Alfie turned last year into something of a procession, but this year we have several contenders for Player of the Year. Voting will run until 20th April, so please click on the link below, and have your Fan ID number ready when you vote.
It’s important to avoid recency bias. The team has been playing really well the past couple of months, but there were large swathe(s) of the season when we were awful. The one player that’s been, at the very least, solid through most of the season is Lloyd Jones. He should be our POTY if we’re measuring over the course of a whole season.
I think voting closes a bit too early this time round, not doubt for perfectly valid reasons. 20th April is right before we play Wycombe and then Wrexham. If a couple of results go our way and someone like Coventry or Ramsay scores the goal that gets us automatic promotion it will make a huge difference in who the most important player was this season

So many options this season - which is great. My shortlist being Ramsey, Jones, Edward’s, Small, Coventry, TC and Godden. Must concentrate on it being based on a whole season which means that missing games through injuries to Ramsey & Edwards probably rules them out. Godden wasn’t starting early season games and neither was Small so they’re ruled out as well. Just left to choose between three now 😱

What of Ramsay, who was injured during the bad period and fit for the good periods?
What of Coventry, who's been the most consistent player we've had, barely mad a mistake all season and made us miss Dobson much less than we could/should have done.
What of Godden, our top scorer, doing all of the donkey work up top, with numerous different strike partners, but time and again has popped up with game changing, game-winning goals?
I don't think it's as clear cut as you make it out to be
I think there is only really 3 options. Coventry, jones, Campbell. Ramsey has been great but hasn’t played enough due to injury. Godden and Edwards have been consistently good but aren’t quite at the top. For me, it is Coventry.
Yeah I think Coventry will get my vote, partly because of his consistency in the side. He's missed two League games this season, one for a yellow card suspension, the other I'm guessing because he was on standby for the Ireland squad and got called up.
It’s Coventry, Jones, TC for me. In that order. You could make a case for Ramsay, Small, Edwards, Godden, even Gillesphey, but the first three have been the most consistent performers, and consistently good.
As it's Player of the year, which I believe we all take as player of the season, then Jones wins comfortably.
Coventry has played well all season but not as outstanding as Jones.
TC only came alive in December (doesn't everyone remember 4 months ago when the majority said he wasn't a striker, wasn't a wing back and he finally came alive when Small was brought in on the right in about early December?
Godden also didn't look fit and played very few full games before December and rarely shone when he did.
Ramsay has been excellent but has been out injured twice for quite long lengthy spells.
Edwards has been very good but has also been out injured twice.
Small didn't feature much until early December and whilst he's been very good he's had some average games.
Jones has been consistently the best for the longest, although yes he did have a spell out injured as well.

i disagree - to me, TC was our only threat before Small started to be used on the other wing and then godden got himself fully fit and performing as he is now - TC was dropped a ferw times and we were completely blunt in attack - he's been very good all season for me.
Lloyd Jones missed 6 league games after the 1-0 win v Birmingham and we went 5 games without a win (Until the 1-0 away win at Burton) when came on as a late sub in that Crawley town home defeat in early December
Since then he has played the next 21 league games and we have only suffered 2 defeats.

I agree TC was ok at the start of the season and our main threat, but he had few assists or goals. A lot of promise but no end product. As I said he came alive in December.
Voted Jones because I think it's no coincidence that results picked up again when he came back in, very harsh on Coventry who I love and would walk it most years based on his performances this year.
Like mentioned Ramsay would be up there if not for Injuries and I'd put an outside vote on Edwards for being a consistent 7/10 every week. How many wingback complaints have we had this season compared to the last few. Outstanding.
What’s the age cut off for young player of the season? Assume TC will win that quite comfortably.. unless Small is eligible, in which case it may be a bit closer. Which then poses the question, would Small be the first non-academy graduate to win young player of the season?
Jones for me but Coventry runs him very close. Jones' return to the side was transformative. The biggest catalyst for the turnaround in fortunes, IMO. Honourable mentions for TC, Ramsey, Godden and Edwards. What a year.
Most Improved Player from a Decent Starting Point: Campbell
Best Goalscorer: Godden
Best Player Partnership: Ramsay/Small
Most Consistent Player: Jones
Player Who Can Consider Himself Most Unlucky Not To Be Starting: Mitchell
Best Individual Performance In A Single Match: Campbell v Huddersfield
Player Who Can Consider Himself Most Unlucky Not To Be Listed Above: Coventry
We may be fast approaching April but for me it feels far too early to be voting as there are still, at least, four players who are in with a decent shout and there's a long way to go. Consequently, I won't be voting until the last minute. If I had to vote now it would be for Jones who has to my mind had the biggest impact right across the season. That said, Campbell, Ramsay and Coventry have all done particularly well and could with some consistency between now and the end of the season force their way to the front.
While not the only factor, it obviously makes sense to take in to consideration how much they've played, whether that's injuries or other.
Interesting above that some are saying no to certain players for not playing enough, but those players have actually played just as many as others. Ramsay is the one most affected by loss of games. Small and Edwards are both over 30 league games, 34 and 31 respectively.
Coventry (37 games), TC (38 games), and Gillesphey (38) look to be most consistent in playing games this season.

but probably vote for Jones.

Arguments to be made for Coventry, Small, Godden, Ramsay, Jones, Tyreece. Maybe even a few others.
How can a poty be decided before the potential penultimate games?
Godden could score 10 more goals and be a favourite, TC could score 10 and be the same, someone could get injured, someone could get a red.
Strange decision.
