I bought a physical paper ticket for my brother and on Saturday he was literally stuck in the turnstile as it did not fully open.
It took a long while to do and redo the laser/barcode thing, along with getting a steward involved and pushing the bars for it to open, much to the frustration of those behind us. The adjacent turnstile was out of action.
Does anybody tour the place before matches to ensure everything works properly?
All of the Curbs stand turnstiles should be operational.
Don't forget you can also tap in on the contactless symbol, which I find a lot easier/quicker than lining up the barcode with the laser.
    With a paper ticket?

  • Do season ticket holders still get entry to U21 games?
Only U21 games at The Valley according to the 25/26 season ticket brochure.

  • That sounds like me!

Unfortunately when I looked on the official site, the season ticket e-brochure is of the 24/25 season.

It might be my cookies again but I can't navigate to Clive's document on the official website.

It never ceases to amaze me the number of people who are active on here and their social media of choice, but then are happy to talk down the Club because they can’t be bothered to look at the Official Website to see official Club news.

But interesting wording: "get a free ticket". Sounds like you have to apply for an actual no cost ticket and waving your season ticket at the machine or a person won't work.  (I wonder if there would be a £1.50 transaction fee applied?)

Also it means that season tickets holders will probably have to pay for entry to Dartford FC [ Princes Road].
This is a change from the last couple of seasons, but it might be worth waiting for previews of home U21 fixtures, if the communications team can be bothered to do them.

That probably applies to U21 games at 'The Valley' where you can obtain a free ticket online or go to the ticket office produce your season ticket or fan id, they print off a free ticket for entry via the turnstiles or sometimes main reception.
  • Why does the ‘buy season tickets’ function on the club App show no availability when the club is also saying that fans that bought/buy tickets  for Watford and Leicester can basically upgrade to a season ticket ? Doesn’t seem to be a very user friendly way of encouraging sales. And whilst we must have moved on from the 10k/10.5k sold last (?) mentioned by the club we can’t have already sold that many for blocks to have no seats available to buy.

Given how high the attendance is expected to be for Leicester is it just that you can’t buy a ST for that block because it’s sold out this weekend? Or is it happening for all blocks?

Randomly checking around the ground it seems to be just the Covered End. Taking those off sale doesn’t make any sense. They can tell anyone buying a ST there before Saturday’s match that the seat has already been sold and if it’s not then they’d have to sit elsewhere for the Leicester game. They are going to have the same problem for the rest of the season because the club is pushing tickets for other games, Millwall for starters…

Club posted earlier in the week that less than 10% of Covered End tickets for the weekend remain so that’ll be your problem. I see your point but people get very possessive over “their seat” and don’t always read emails properly, plus I don’t think the back end of the ticketing system is as sophisticated as it should be. If you want a ST in the CE you might be best off ringing the ticket office

You can upgrade to a season ticket and have the cost of your Watford and/or Leicester ticket refunded as part of the purchase.

To do this, simply contact the club's Ticket Office at tickets@cafc.co.uk or call during working hours on 03330 14 44 44 and the amount you have already paid for your respective tickets will be deducted from the price of your season ticket.

I find the ticket section isn’t great if you’re using Chrome (rest of the site, including CATV is fine) and I use Safari for tickets (or the phone app).

If you click on choose best available, it opens up for you to choose stand & block. The screen then opens up as below. Because I chose Covered Upper, it’s already pretty full for next two games, so the system chooses your seat for Blackburn onwards and you have to choose alternatives for Leicester & Spanners.

Alternatively…just call the Ticket Office and I’m sure they’ll find what you want.

you que up at the ticket office before the u21 game at the valley and get a ticket with proof of a season ticket. then show  that to the stewards on the way in. It has been like that for a few years now.

Does anyone know FOR CERTAIN, if you WhatsApp a DIGITAL S/T to someone, that it works?
Did anyone do this for the Watford game?

  • I tried it with a photo of my physical ST for Watford and the barcode scanned ok.

If a season ticket holder has to pay to attend CAFC U21's games at Princes Park, Dartford, anybody know how much for a season ticket holder?
