Do we score more than half of our goals at the Covered End?

I always used to think we did. Anyone got any perceptions or, indeed, facts? I’m thinking over the years not just this season.

Think that was the old plan. Go 2-0 down then get one back then the other team would waste time (to kill the game).

We have scored a lot of late goals (this season), and kept the tradition of playing Cover End second half so I imagine so...
  • I am sure we play to the Cover End second half for that reason as well.

Can't think of any other reason to get the sun in our Goalkeeper's eyes in the first half.

Last season was 24-12 in favour of the Covered End in league matches.

    26-19 including cups.
  • What about the number of pens with get?

We’ll soon be on to throw-ins hopefully.

  • I think we need to know breakdown by half as think stats show more goals get scored in second half of games.

So if we attack covered end more often than not in second half we should be scoring more at that end.
  • Superb work, @ArmchairAddick. Could you knock out the stats for the last 25 seasons if you get a spare moment?
You find 25 years worth of highlights for me and a weekends worth of beer and I'm on it 😜

So what you are saying is we should change it for cup games?

this is the sort of info Big Sam would have been all over back in the day to get that extra 0.5% edge.

This is why teams turn us round at kick off when they can. Shrewsbury did it to us in the play offs always sticks in mind.

Always knew the ratio was high but now the evidence is here lock and sink this thread.
