Weren’t there also charlton fans saying they bought the corporate/hospitality packages (presumably Club Wembley) directly from Wembley for the matches. That would have potentially added a lot more

Yep, I was one of them, party of seven. One of them not Charlton, (my Czech neighbour) the rest definitely all Addicks. Rough guess (but I suppose the real capacity is stated somewhere) the lounge we were in held about 500.
76,155 We took more than Sunderland and couldve sold more!
Sunderland had taken 40k+ to Wembley a few weeks before that for the EFL Trophy final and were on a long run of losing at Wembley.
Their form also fell off a cliff in the last weeks of the season when they looked dead certs for automatic promotion but then ended up 5th. So i think a lot of their fans thought 'fuck this' and didn't bother traveling.

Fair enough. Doesn’t change the fact we took a shitload of fans; and whilst there were a lot of “hanger ons” non Addicks, the overwhelming majority were Charlton!

I have said on another post i had a spurs fan on my right and a Chelsea fan on my left. The spurs fan brought along a mate who didnt really follow anyone. So i guess it was watered down a bit.
Millwall fans are deluded if they think they are the better supported club. That’s never been the case. Look at attendance history. Here are the last 4 years for them.
1999 - The Lions to the club's first-ever official appearance at Wembley to face Wigan Athletic in the Auto Windscreens Shield Final. The Latics win 1-0 in front of 47,349 Millwall fans amongst a 55,000 crowd – a record number of supporters from one club at Wembley.
One of the spanners I used to work with, would always go about this.

Portsmouth would've eclipsed that in 2020 (they sold over 50k) but their final was postponed because of covid and played later on.

Did you ever discuss home record attendances? Millwall 48,762 Charlton 75,031.

Not really, he wouldn’t have understood numbers and which was the biggest.

Unless someone corrects me- we took more.
Probably didn't like the math 😉

Last season was their best for 70 years:

Charlton 75,031.
They get to win the Auto Windscreens Shield cup (is it me or is that funny considering it was called that) though, cute.
