As there are no trains from Mansfield that get back to London we are considering using Valley express for the first time ever. Anyone got any experiences they want to share regarding this?
They don't plan things very well and aim to arrive about an hour before the game. I've heard of the coach missing games on a couple of occasions up north.
I have also heard people complain about how slowly it goes around London/Kent picking people up.
On the very few occasions i've used the 'Valley Away' service in the past couple of seasons, i've found the coaches very comfortable with a toilet on board. They normally arrive at the away ground between 18.00-18.30, with a stop at a service station for between 30-45 minutes. The return journey is normally without a stop & first drop-off is Charlton. The numerous pick-up points enroute from Larkfield can be frustrating for those boarding there or Gravesend/ Dartford etc. When boarding/alighting at Charlton i've always had a smooth punctual trip & there are night buses N1/ N472 & the 24 hour service 486 if the coach arrives after 01.30.
