Bed rental

Due to an operation my wife will be having soon, we need a double bed downstairs for a couple of months. Anyone know a contact for rental?

Checked out a couple but they have minimum six months rental.

  • "Roomservice by CORT" do all sorts of furniture hire, from as little as a month

Contacted them and its minimum spend £900 over three months … thanks anyway.
  • Bit wasteful, but ikea does a double frame for about 70 quid. Could that and a mattress be equivalent to a rental?

    sell it after?
    • The NHS, hospital, or local council may be able to provide a hospital-style bed or funding for a medical bed.
    • Equipment loan stores
Local councils and NHS trusts may have equipment loan stores that can loan out hospital beds for short periods of time.

    Blimey - steep.
  • If you are both sleeping downstairs (?) then would it be worth buying a bed frame, eg Ikea, and moving your own mattress down?
  • When my mother in law could no longer cope with stairs we brought a single bed down from upstairs (probably useless comment but you never know).
All the best to you both.
  • I had an abdominal op a few years back where they said don’t use stairs but once the stitches came out it was fine - and a lot quicker than expected.
It may be different for your wife’s operation but I wouldn’t spend a lot of money tbh.
