Just that really.
I've banged on about it long enough & now there's your proof. 24 clean sheets this season & just done 12 games in a row without conceding.
But they aren't top & imo wont get automatic promotion.
So, can we agree that scoring goals does actually matter. (6 of their last 12 games have been 0-0 draws).

Burnley are currently four points behind Leeds (who have a game in hand) and five behind Sheffield United (same number of games and they have to go to Burnley). I think Parker would be a fool not to recognise that they are already in the play offs (18 points clear of 7th) and that if he wants them to make automatic promotion then it's time to be more expansive in the vast majority of their remaining matches.
Just an attention seeker aren't you!! - Either that or you're just trolling!!... But hey, no one else would get slated like this, because they don't f**king well keep moaning about the same damned thing, even when opinions about it are given
I know I've set myself for ridicule for starting this thread & I do understand that keeping clean sheets is vital. But I think some if you will agree (but not @ForeverAddickted or @Chunes) that scoring goals is also equally important. In fact more so, because without scoring a single goal the best you'll ever do is draw 0-0.
As I said, I don't expect people to agree with me and I expect to get the usual brickbats that I'm obsessed about this subject, but just wanted to point out that Burnley might break all sorts of records this season for not conceding, but if they can't score at the other end then it might all be for nowt.
Its that simple
Its why Football is a TEAM game
We're stuck on 50-pts... But had we kept a clean sheet today we'd be on 51-pts and a place higher... We never looked like scoring (You would know that if you bothered to watch the game) so 53-pts from today was never realistic.
If you can't win... Dont lose... I know you're obsessed with Goal Difference, but how many times have promotion spots or 6th / 7th actually been decided on that?
Burnley could win every games 1-0 in a season and would be the lowest scorers in the Division I imagine
1-0, 4-3, 10-9... Still only gets you 3-pts for a win
I'm gonna guess it's the same for this league since I remember Ipswich got something like 45% last season.
I think that phrase means that you can score loads of goals, but unless it's backed up by a solid clean sheets record, you're not gonna be up there.
Oxford in 6th with 74 points
Charlton in 7th with 74 points.
Oxford into the play offs with a +7 better goal difference.
So stick that in your bloody pipe and smoke it !!!!!!!!!!!
The team that won the playoffs (Blackpool) scored fewer goals (60) than a team that got relegated (Rochdale, 61).
I wonder even if you understand how Goal Difference works - You say we need to score more goals, but we could have won 3-2 yesterday and thats no different to a 1-0 when it comes to improving your GD. So I will repeat again, you need to score goals AND stop them going in... Stop looking at just one aspect of Football.
He prefers to moan, to always see the negative and to hang on to the smallest straw of bad news to get through life, that is how he is.
There is no point trying to explain that he's being irrationally negative because he is irrationally negative.
🙄
Sheff Utd scored 92, 10 more than us, finished 3rd and lost in the playoffs with Huddersfield going up in 4th.
We had the best goal difference and only conceded 36 times, 4 of them being in that home defeat vs Notts County, a rare bad day for us that season.
