SD card players.

One for you techno buffs. Does anyone know where I can purchase a SD card player where I just remove it from my camcorder connect it to the TV and press play instead of using the camcorder itself. 

I bought a device called my pin that doesn't seem to work very well shows them on a menu but doesn't play. OK with pictures. Frustrating.

depending on what format the video records in, you may be able to just us a SD to lightning card on an iPad and watch it that way.  Probably easier to do on an android tablet.

Find out what the recording format is and we can investigate

It was a joke grandad calm down. Well aware of thay, I have a GoPro abd another video camera for filming skiing and other sports. The point was that no one has called it a camcorder since 2001.

having thought about this a but more, the only issue you might have is the read speed of the SD card itself.
That might throttle the playback speed and may end up buffering.  Presumably the hardware in the camcorder would get around this for playback on the pull out screen.

You crack on using it, any opportunity to get rid of a mobile phone is a good one as far as I am concerned 👍🏻

Because i want to cut down on the wear and tear use of the machine. and also would like to use a small device for taking round to families etc.

again, depends on the output format given how old the camcorder is, could you off load to a pc/mac and then upload to You Tube?

YT is free to upload to.  I've transferred a lot of the family video clips to YT over the years, just as another back up.  You can then always take an iPad/Tablet with you, or even log into YT on their smart tv?

Yes i could do that, but wanted something simple i could just use without getting the camcorder out of the box etc. When video 8 was out years ago i had a device i put the tape into simple plug into TV and off we went.

What people forget is that is was good having DVDs and CDs. I still have a blue ray player. I wanted to watch the Brian Clough movie, I believe in miracles and couldn't find it other than on a DVD on ebay for £1.60 so I bought it and watched it. Same with Kung Fu, the seventies series, I bought the first series and am nearly through that and will then buy series 2 and 3. Much cheaper and easier than finding it online.
