    Was interesting how smug Methven looked when the guy said "Is that it?" about the £10m purchase price, and the reply saying yes my niche is finding clubs in distress that need a quick sale.

    Felt like 'Look how clever I am getting clubs cheaply', forgetting that they paid more than both of the previous owners - one when it was a Championship club, and one in exactly the same position.

    Duchatelet money paid £14m and he got the real estate for that as well.
    Hard to see what’s worth £10m to a group of non-fans when you take a realistic view of the liabilities. The cost of turning it round was always going to be many times that, with no guarantee of success.

    It could be argued, however, that the willingness of investors to believe in fairy tales about the business is the reason it is sustainable.
