    1-2 a happy weekend
  • Most important thing is to keep the strong performances going. Do that and the results will take care of themselves. Tough away fixture, they've had some good recent results, a draw would be an okay outcome. 2-2.
  • A draw would be a good result here however we normally surprise ourselves 1-2

Now comes the true test of our recent upturn in form. Problem is we are facing a team who are also on the up and the Fat Controller never lost his job in their poor run. Defeat would really flatten us in a psychological way. If we make it 3 defeats in 3 away games then the season really should be over. Hope I am being pessimistic but 1-0 to the Millars.
  • You know you’ve hit an all time low when you’re away to Rotherham.
  • You know you’ve hit an all time low when you’re away to Rotherham.
Am here tonight. Reminds me of the Morrissey line "Everyday is like Sunday
Everyday is silent and grey". The town centre is sad and desolate. Only a notch up from Gillingham. SNAFU bar only bright spot. 1-3 Charlton COYR
  • would be the most important win of the season for both teams if we win
  • 3 big games coming up before the end of the month. 2 away from home against teams right in the mix with us and then a home game against a relegation threatened team. 5 or 6 points would be a good haul. Tomorrow sees us achieve 1 of those points.

    1-1.
  • We are currently 7 points off the play offs.
Should we Draw today we may well find ourselves 9 points off the play offs
If ever a game was a must win , this is it.

  • Bit of a random question but something I've always wondered especially at our level.

With Bolton away on Tuesday that will be 3 games "up north" in just a week. How do you think we've travelled? I know the bigger clubs fly everywhere. It was well publicised that Arsenal flew to Brighton which is only a couple of hours down the road but we won't be doing that.

I'm assuming we travelled home Tuesday night via coach, Rest day Weds, recovery day Thursday and then travelled back up again Friday via train/coach but surely after the Rotherham game we will stay up there a couple of days to save the travelling for the Bolton game. I remember us using i think Evertons training ground last week before the Bolton game i belive.

    Just wondering really

    Saturday 18th January 2025 - 3pm Kick-Off
    Referee: Darren Drysdale

eleven - Naturally two players must drop from the bench, as we return to having just seven substitutes rather than nine, yet even that isn't a given.

Oh no!! How will they cope?

Charlton Athletic have failed to beat a Steve Evans side in their last 9 League Games

The last win was away at Leeds back in April 2016
This is what concerns me, feel like he always gives us issues.

Is there a Nathan Jones v Steve Evans teams head to head?

6 matches between them and zero wins for Nathan.

Fair play mate, what app is this or did you just manually do it yourself?
  • He is due one then.

Transfermarkt has it all. I just googled Steve Evans vs Nathan Jones and it came up with his head to head against all managers
  • 2-1 or 2-2

  • Decided to go to this after all. 1-1
  • Our recent performances have been a lot better than they were but , and there is a but, we still seem to draw too many games.
Our last two matches one in the league and Preston in the cup we created more than enough chances to win both.
But we drew one and lost one.
Our next 4 games are all winnable in my opinion so anything less than 10 points will not really prove we are good enough.
Win tomorrow and it sets us up nicely for the Bolton game followed by two home games against sides near the bottom.
    Head says 1 1
    Heart says  2 1 Charlton.
Enjoy the game all those who are going.
Are you underestimating Shrewsbury? Under Ainsworth.......they are just like Wycombe afew years ago. Pretty tough. Just beat Wrexham

Bad time to be playing Shrewsbury I think we all know how that’s going to go !!! I would rather we get 3 points today and Tuesday than rely on 3 points against Shrewsbury
  • 0-1 hopefully.
  • Not a place you wanted to go to Millmoor in the 1970s and 1980s. Last time I was up there the old ground was still there. Will worth a visit.
As for todays game you would expect a hard game and 2-1 home win.
Depends on what side Nathan puts out.

Is still there now, a bloody shame they moved.
I gather that the ground cannot be pulled down and must be used for sporting events.
