"Looks interesting, appears to have been one of Charlton's best players last season"
"Excellent, excellent signing"
Is there another Tayo Edun? He's a distinctly average utility player, who is the third choice left-back for a terrible charlton team. There is being rose tinted and there is being on drugs. Not a bad player but our fans would be out for blood if this was a Charlton signing
I watched him quite a few times when he was at Lincoln - live and on the TV - and I was really impressed by him, getting up and down the pitch, looking really dangerous going forward and then mopping up at the back, making really good decisions going forward and defending. He also showed a really good turn of pace and had a fantastic engine.
I remember thinking he would be a great signing for us, but then he went to Blackburn and that was that. Clearly it didn't work out for him there for whatever reason, but when we signed him I was pretty pleased and hopeful we were getting the Lincoln version.
Unfortunately we didn't. He just didn't look like the same player to the one I'd seen before. Still plenty of energy, but making some bad decisions and it just didn't seem to click. That happens of course, and I hope for his sake that he can find his Lincoln form again.
But I wish him well. He seems like a good bloke, always seemed to give his all and never hid for us. I know that should be our minimum expectation, but we can't always say that about some of our players over the past few years.
I wonder if Edun ever thought a conversation about his Charlton career would ever descend into a grammatical dust up over missing punctuation and sentence structure?
Peterborough hadn't had a single clean sheet all season in the league prior to Edun's arrival and but for that incident they would have had two from two since he arrived
Overall, Edun proved himself not to be good enough. Yes, he may well be playing well but he is a limited player and will go back to his normal level over a number of games.
Sounds like he’s been the key factor to their turnaround in form. Good for him. That makes it doubly pleasing he got sent off in the 90th minute in his last game so is suspended against us.

Was the sending off as bad as the one he got for us (forget against who) where he was literally fouled but somehow sent off

Never thought he was awful for us like some are, but then he was definitely not as good as Small or Edwards and it freed up wages - might have helped sign Gilbert.
I thought on the very rare occasions he played for us this season he was quite good. Definitely threw himself about like a player who recognised Jones wanted total commitment and high intensity pressing. It's a shame he couldn't find his place with us as I wonder if he would have come in on Saturday to replace Edwards if he was still here. Good that he's doing well (and can't play against us on Saturday). Hopefully he'll take some points off other teams that we need to slip up

I think it’s unlikely. Jones values physicality so much, can’t see him ever signing a player or using one with the size and physicality of Edun. He’s a decent footballer and he tried, but it was never going to happen for him with Jones as manager

Seems to be in the same situation as Terry Taylor - a perfectly adequate/decent player, quite possibly a good player, but doesn't fit the very specific mould that you need to suit a NJ system.

Free kick was good though.
Doing well there by all accounts:

One of those good moves for all parties.
