  • More comments now he's gone than when he played. A talisman.

"Looks interesting, appears to have been one of Charlton's best players last season"

    "
    Excellent, excellent signing"

Is there another Tayo Edun? He's a distinctly average utility player, who is the third choice left-back for a terrible charlton team. There is being rose tinted and there is being on drugs. Not a bad player but our fans would be out for blood if this was a Charlton signing
  • One of our Elite players when signed so would expect an Elite player to come in.
    Dream on
  • I wonder if Edun ever thought a conversation about his Charlton career would ever descend into a grammatical dust up over missing punctuation and sentence structure?
    He probably did.

The tweet said "undisclosed terms". A nominal fee I'd imagine.
Heard it was 800k but only 50 quid up front
Heard it was Klarna - pay later
  • Not that it matters too much but straight into their starting 11 today. Glad he’ll get some game time
  • You know he is going to be excellent now that he is out of the Charlton hex pocket reality
  • Started at LB and had a decent debut by all accounts.

To be fair he wasn’t awful for us .

I think that says more about Sparkes than it does Edun.
  • Gave away the late penalty that Exeter equalised from (well, the rebound) tonight

"Clever play from the Plymouth..."  :D
  • Peterborough hadn't had a single clean sheet all season in the league prior to Edun's arrival and but for that incident they would have had two from two since he arrived
  • It was a great cros he put in for their goal.

  • Overall, Edun proved himself not to be good enough. Yes, he may well be playing well but he is a limited player and will go back to his normal level over a number of games.
  • Playing LB for Posh and us, not sure his isn't a ball carrying midfielder
  • I pity anyone that had to play under the Garner / Holden/ especially Appleton era of untold crap.  Nonetheless , I’m happier with Edwards and Small.

Sounds like he’s been the key factor to their turnaround in form. Good for him. That makes it doubly pleasing he got sent off in the 90th minute in his last game so is suspended against us.
Was the sending off as bad as the one he got for us (forget against who) where he was literally fouled but somehow sent off
  • I thought on the very rare occasions he played for us this season he was quite good. Definitely threw himself about like a player who recognised Jones wanted total commitment and high intensity pressing. It's a shame he couldn't find his place with us as I wonder if he would have come in on Saturday to replace Edwards if he was still here. Good that he's doing well (and can't play against us on Saturday). Hopefully he'll take some points off other teams that we need to slip up

I think it’s unlikely. Jones values physicality so much, can’t see him ever signing a player or using one with the size and physicality of Edun. He’s a decent footballer and he tried, but it was never going to happen for him with Jones as manager

Seems to be in the same situation as Terry Taylor - a perfectly adequate/decent player, quite possibly a good player, but doesn't fit the very specific mould that you need to suit a NJ system.
