Charlton: Bartram, Shreeve, Lock, Fenton, Phipps, Forbes, Hurst, O'Linn, Vaughan, Cullum, Kiernan.

Bolton: Hanson, Roberts, R Banks, Barrass, Gillies, Howe, McShane, Moir, Lofthouse, Bradley, Langton.

Referee: R J Leafe (Nottingham).

The first goal of the 1950-51 season was scored by Nat Lofthouse when he opened the scoring after just eight seconds. It remains the quickest goal ever scored against Charlton.

    So Charlton were slow starters even in those days.
    Good fightback to win, though.

    Bolton hat trick by Nat Lofthouse, who was the Lion of Vienna - or so my Dad tells me.
