Playoffs Guaranteed Minimum - Good Friday

The playoffs are a lottery. I'd rather we got second.
With the exception of Birmingham teams in the top six are all pretty evenly matched. Stockport are who I'd least like to face.27 -
The Peterborough game on Saturday scares me. They haven't lost since they played us at The Valley and have beaten some good teams.6

They've got Poku back now as well, they wouldn't be where they are if he hadn't been out injured for three months.cafcnick1992 said:The Peterborough game on Saturday scares me. They haven't lost since they played us at The Valley and have beaten some good teams.
On the plus note, a Wycombe fan I work with thinks we'll end up 2nd0 -
Feels like a mad thing to say but Edun will be a big miss for Posh. They've been moaning about their LB's all season and he's made a real difference to them8

Sky is 4 weeks before the scheduled date of the game, I can’t believe it won’t get moved. Just depends if the same day and moved to another day.TootingRedArmy said:IF we can beat Wycombe and Wrexham, I’d like to think that could see us pushing for automatic promotion. Although — and it’s a big IF — I wouldn’t mind another thrilling playoff rollercoaster ride. For months now, I’ve had a feeling it could be Charlton v Wrexham in the playoffs... who knows?
Does anyone know when tickets for Wrexham away will be released? And if Sky decides to televise it, when will we find out? I’m hoping to get to Wrexham away and then head north to catch up with friends — fingers crossed for a memorable run-in!
COYR!

Sky in previous seasons have also moved crucial late games in a season to other days, so it can get the full Sky Sports Football coverage
Wonder if they'll be tempted to do that, or whether they just wont bother anymore, now that SkySports+ is an option.
Am really surprised though that it was solely Bolton vs Stockport at 12:30pm on Saturday, and not Wycombe vs Wrexham as well.0 -

I guess there was a reason they couldn’t televise it or when they decided it wasn’t anticipated to be such a big game.0 -
Not really that surprising. It happens at this time of year; players get tired and teams at the top focus more on tightening up, getting in front and seeing out games to get over the line. In our 11/12 title winning season we scored 47 goals in the first half of the season and 35 in the second. In the first half of the season we scored 3 or more goals 7 times, and in the second half only 3 times, which included the weird variety show that was the last game of the season. We had three absolutely horrendous 1-0 wins in a row to get over the line. It's just the way things go around this time of year, the fact that we're actually scoring more as teams start to run out of steam is a good sign for usUboat said:
In the top half of the form table only Bolton and Blackpool have really been banging them in lately. The goals are drying up all over the place.9 -
We may well make 3rd at this rate, but both Wrexham and Wycombe are 5 points ahead of us already (if Wycombe won game in hand), with 9 games to play.
We need two more wins than both of them. So if either of them get 5/6 wins from their last 9, we need 7/8! Doable? Yes, but the bookies will be showing what they think.

If we still have any chance (no matter how remote) by the time Wycombe (A) comes around on Easter Monday then I think that’s a job well done personally.11

Today I visited Wycombe’s main forum. Golfie would be a normal, unremarkable poster on there. All out despair, with quite a few seriously suggesting that they won’t even finish top 6.21

But it is in our hands to make it one more win than them.Very tough ask and the bookies have it about right - but it is a possibility. Our priorities in order:1. Make top 62. Finish 3rd or 4th to get home advantage second leg3. Finish 2ndI think we can reasonably expect 1, I think 2 is likely, and 3 is a dream but not of the pipe variety.

We'd need to beat both Wrexham and Wycome anyway, to have any realistic change of making 2nd. So on that basis we need to find one more win elsewhere. The Prince-e-Paul said:We may well make 3rd at this rate, but both Wrexham and Wycombe are 5 points ahead of us already (if Wycombe won game in hand), with 9 games to play.

Those x2 big back-to-back away games feel like when we played the two Sheffield teams away from home (again, consecutively I think?) In the Powell promotion season... and we came away with two 1-0 wins!0 -

We don't want to be in a situation where we narrowly miss out on 2nd near the end of the season, then go into the playoffs in bad spirits.
Our run in 18/19 was perfect - surged into 3rd on the final day with no prospect of autos.4 -
I think Wycombe might fall away a bit, but it's going to be a struggle to catch Wrexham. Next 2 games for us are tough as well2
-
To be in that position anyway it'd mean we'd have probably finished the season very strongly, so i wouldn't have thought we'd then enter the play offs dispirited.cafcnick1992 said:We don't want to be in a situation where we narrowly miss out on 2nd near the end of the season, then go into the playoffs in bad spirits.

That win on Saturday really has made it Wrexhams spot to lose. At 0 0 I had us down to take 2nd place but that late goal changed a lot.BigRedEvil said:I think Wycombe might fall away a bit, but it's going to be a struggle to catch Wrexham. Next 2 games for us are tough as well2 -

Yep, don't want Stockport in play-offs.ElfsborgAddick said:
I fancy us against either, they would have been up there all season and to not get automatic promotion I think would see them fold.balham red said:
Agree. If we don't get 2nd, I'd rather Wrexham did, as I don't fancy playing them in the playoffs, or having them in League one next season if we don't get promoted. Wycombe are a busted flush.CH4RLTON said:Like others have said I would just be aiming for top 4,I think Wycombe might fall away a bit, so for me playing them over two legs with second one at the Valley is best case in the play offs for me
I'd go as far to say get one in the semi then beat the other in the final I am that confident we would do it.

Both more or less identical free kicks by Jackson. The Wednesday game was first then followed by United.

I think we beat Utd 1-0 away earlier in the season with Yann scoring a late goal, possibly his first for us?North Lower Neil said:

Yeah it's the one where Yann came on at Sheff Utd and scored with his first touch, that I'm thinking of.

I thought BWP scored at Sheff U. A one on one that bounce back off the keeper & then he slotted home.LargeAddick said:

Kermorgants header as a sub was against MK ?0 -
0-2 away against Sheff Utd
BWP & Yann
1-1 against MK Dons away I think
Yann with the goal from a Danny Green Cross
