Having looked at the goalscoring ability of our under 21 talent (80+ goals last season between Casey and Mbick) I wondered if anyone had any thoughts as to why they’ve not been given more of a chance, at least when Leaburn was injured?
I just don’t see why Ahadme for one has been selected consistently, wouldn’t it make more sense to have one of the youngsters on the bench, given that’s paid dividends before and we now have multiple academy players starting?

From the u21 streams I’ve watched this season Enslin is the one I’d like to see get a chance in the first team next.
Laqeretabua is another who looks a good prospect. I think we’ll see Fullah get a chance over the next year or two (still only 17 but an u21 regular).
I’m not convinced Mbick and Casey will make the step up as comfortably as others have. Mbick’s hold up play needs improvement, but that can come in time as he’s only recently turned 18.
Casey is a poacher (though likes to drop deep too) but not going to worry experienced L1 CBs when it comes to pace, height or strength. Doesn’t mean he won’t make it, it just means other parts of his game need to be very good to make up for those weaker areas.
We’ve got a lot of u21s already in the first team squad, some like Asiimwe and Mitchell (another who is/was injured) haven’t had much of a chance yet, so I can see why NJ won’t want even more on top of that.
